Zombie Types/Varients.
So... Its hard to make a zombie game interesting for a long time without some form of difference between zombies.

I've read the digital artbook and they had some interesting zombie designs, but it just didn't make sense for the Walking Dead Universe, so OVERKILL never went through with them. Now I love the walkers in the Walking Dead Universe, though the limiting types of walkers may be its downfall.

What kinds of walkers would make sense to be added to this game that would fit in the Walking Dead Universe? I'm curious what you guys think because I never watched the show, but we need more walker types besides... Walker, Crawler, Blocker, Bloater...

I was thinking instead of different types of zombies... the zombies would be special depending on what they are "wearing" for example...

Hazmat zombies that do not burn (Like in Left 4 Dead)

Noise making zombies (maybe have cans that somehow got tied around its legs and drag behind it.) This may have happened from a Walker walking through a trap and it dragged it with.

Zombies with bits of barbed wire attached to them so when you melee them they have a thorn effect and hurt you...? so you're forced to shoot them...?

What kinds of Walkers can we have in this game without breaking "The Walking Dead" Universe, but make this game more interesting.

They shouldn't have used The Walking Dead IP. Just make an Overkill zombie game. Then they could have went all out and make it really fun, while still keeping some of the mechanics like noise level.

TWD IP limits pretty much everything.

All is in the past now, I guess.

nice ideas here , this would certainly fit wirh the walkers theme as they are too stupid to remove the items stuck to them , i like it a lot , devs listen to this and add them ...

Once again, the lack of different walkers is a consequence of lack of resources and time.
We most likely will get new types in future, but for now I'm afraid it stays as it is.

Honestly, in case with Overkill, "lack of resources and time" sounds laughable.

They delayed the game multiple times and most likely changed the engine and remade their whole game in process. Bad developping or marketting decisions are not laughable, they're just sad.

Yeah, can't argue with that.

Could have...

"Survivor" Zombies that drop loot when you kill them.

Firefighter zombies that are fire proof.

Zombie Children...? Why are there never zombie children in zombie games?

Zombies that can ensnare you from different angles including above you.
(Imagine walking through a forest and a zombie is stuck in a parachute and can grab you from above.)

Certain environmental zombies that are specific to level design that fall from a 5 story building to land on you and putting you in a crippling state...

There's tons of ways to make "different" zombies without mutating them. Just got to put them in different states of clothing or situations that would effect the gameplay.

I'm sure new enemy types will come despite not really making sense in-universe. Payday 2 received several post-launch enemies over the years.

If you want zombie children, you can play No more room in Hell. The combat system is similar to this game too and it's free.
