is there a single player element to this game ?

Say if people want to play offline

OR

want to play with other bots, rather than people

so is it possible to do that ? or is it strictly Online Co-op game, with no offline gameplay possible whatsoever ?

you can set lobby on private.
the difficulty also scales down then

ah ... well, i hope they add if after final release !

it would be a shame if we can't play this offline, as it should cater to all diversities of gamers

It was already confirmed there will never be bots to replace the empty slots in your party. Devs explained bots just don't work for this type of game. So if you are playing solo, you will be a lone wolf.

Dont take it personal. I was figuring out how it would be for a solo player to do the second mission. I laughted alone

No offline mode . This game require internet connections to play . If y want solo , there's private match only ! Sneak kill ect really useful.

It's pretty darned difficult on single player. Definitely designed for multiplayer, but possible on single.

Basically not a SP game from the sounds of it. Seems to be the pattern nowadays.

Definitely easier to recommend as a multiplayer, put it that way. The level that it "caters" to single players is somewhat low...

It'd be cool for it to be single player, too, but seems like it's not. I'd love for a SP mode where I can make a character and explore the DC area

It DOES have a single player mode...let's make that clear. It's just really HARD, 'cause you don't have bots with you, and basically are fighting a losing battle against too many zombies while trying to barricade up gates in several different locations. It's very much DESIGNED for multiple players...but absolutely DOES have a single player mode. Just think of the single player mode as extra-hard difficulty, lol...
