There seems to be only one locked door... where is the key and how do you get it? I've been stuck here for ages.

in the first part of the fire temple, there are three little platforms going up. If you jump high enough, you'll see a treasure chest. the key is in there. Your way is blocked because you need to hit one of the switches that changes blocks. Once you have the fire ring, you can shoot a fireball at one of the switches in the next room to the left and go back to the first room and find the path open. i hope that helps
