No sale participation?

Noticed Touhou 16 also isn't on sale. Should we... just not expect the mainline Touhou releases to be discounted then?

Almost started the same thread, but gladly, there is this one here.

I guess the answer is "No" for Touhou 16, this game here and the upcoming releases on Steam. Well, ZUN don't have to participate on any sale of course, but with such glowing reviews and the extreme positive reaction here on Steam, the releases, the whole Steam page is lackluster handled at best. One might say it's even anti-consumer. But I guess this is how it is. Don't expect any sales or even an english Steam page the upcoming time for any Touhou release.

Unless ZUN has someone that manages overseas sales (which I don't think he does, and has shown an extreme aversion to doing himself) it's unlikely for mainline Touhou games to be involved in Steam sales/events.

Now, fangames are participating that I've seen, so there's that.

Well... i agree with Honoguma, even though that i love seeing Touhou now on Steam, seeing the Steam page for the game... its like they dont even care. I think that if i was a more generic gamer and came across this game i would simply ignore it.
If they don't care enough to put the Steam page at least on english why would they care to participate on Summer Sale?

hold on so this is a mainline touhou game? (ive still never bought one) this is the only one that has peaked my interest but was waiting for it to be on sale...

It is, as in it's an official game. The only other one is Touhou 16 (Hidden Star in Four Seasons). Every other touhou game on steam is a fan game.


Don't expect it to go on sale. The main games as far as I won't go on sale here because they don't go on sale irl (and it's the same price)

well... usually it doesn't more-so to copyright issues. However, ZUN (creator of Touhou Project) is very lenient when it comes to that. To put it simply, as long as you credit him as the creator of the series he has no issues what you do from there.
