New game! Key differences to Battlevoid: Harbinger
http://store.steampowered.com/app/716630/

Many of you are probably wondering if this game is a remake or sequel to Battlevoid: Harbinger. And how it is different.

It is not a remake, it is also not Harbinger 2. It's a new entity, sprung to life by the feature wishes and ideas players gave us by playing Harbinger.

This game is Battlevoid: Harbinger's cousin.

It's a game that has many similarities but enough differences to make it its own new game. It plays differently and has new features that require players to reinvent their play style. Our goal with this game was to create a new experience into the Battlevoid universe.

List of differences / Additions:

  • Max 10 ships + 8 stations to command in Sector Siege versus 3 ships in Harbinger.
  • Marines added to ships.
  • Boarding feature added, both the player and the AI can board.
  • Capture points added, generating resources.
  • Some old but also new ships.
  • Area of effect added to turrets like Nuke and Plasma Eclipse.
  • Fog of war added.
  • Seamless saving and loading added with 4 save slots, save and load at any time. Cross-platform save/load support.
  • Ability to capture all enemy units and stations added, and it's possible to start building them once you have one captured.
  • 1 new race, the Guardians added.
  • All alien races may warp in to a fight and attack any other race. This means alien races will be fighting each other too.
  • Skirmish game mode with 2v2 added, you can play with an alien ally.
  • Star map is not randomized, but a lot of the elements inside a sector are randomized. Sector Siege is all about what happens inside a sector, and one sector play can easily take 30-60 min. A campaign has 25 sectors.
  • You can build and customize the Battlestation.
  • Wave defense missions added. Enemy will attack with a set amount of waves warping in. Also endless waves option in skirmish mode.

Ah. So it's more like a spin-off. Another story in the same universe you guys built?

Yes, that would be one way to describe it! But a ton of work has gone into adding the new features. The whole game was built from scratch using a new game engine.

Thanks! I always like games that have expended into a full-blown franchise complete with lore-heavy spin-offs and/or sequels.

Keep up the good work! Will buy the first game after work. ^_^

I bought first game at discount today. I already played it at my phone for months.. i was at beta as i remember.. anyway..

AOE damage is a huge thing to crush endless fighter meat balls..

So will we take our fleetto next missions like homeworld? or restart for every level at campain.i hope there is no restart..

Will be there an endless mod? I like to play this kind of games limitless..
Can't wait.

Also, +1 on endless mode.

Looks interesting i have to say the idea of capturing ships was something i felt Harbringer seriously lacked since you could only pull blueprints out of the major factions ships and those cool merc/pirate hulls unavailable.

I just hope all carrier fleets aren't as op compaired to gunboats this time around.
I bought it on google play for android, but I want to try it with PC. Should I bought it again here?

Yes, there's almost no place where you can buy a bundle of Android + PC game together.

@kelvinycj. Yep, needs to be purchased separately as all stores want their own cut of sales of course =)

On Humble Bundle store for some games you can(or could?) get Steam key together with .apk through their launcher (not Google Play code though).
