Beached Reed Boat, can't dismount, can't move the boat.
Was trying to explore the water cave place just northwest of the Hidden Cove. There was a sandy bank just under the water near a pillar and the boat got stuck on it while trying to pass.
I even tried to deploy the bloomsac raft and switch boats, but apparently that isn't an option.
I then tried to use a console command to warp to Lyndow as the bug report thing suggests... BUT because I was in boat mode, the game just snapped me back across the island to the beached boat.
I even tried to reload an earlier save, but the game got stuck on the Press A to Continue screen.
I had to close the game down entirely and reload the last autosave to get free.

There really should be some sort of emergency escape for those sorts of situations.

And incidentally, would it hurt to give us a means to get a compass to go with the map?

Emergency escape:

Use the 'escape key' menu. Choose the option that says something like "report a bug". On that display you will find a sequence which will magically get you back to your inn. You may or may not find a way to retrieve the boat.

I'll let a developer talk about how you got there in the first place.

Did you miss the bit where I said I followed those instructions already?
WarpToLyndow doesn't work in boat mode. When stuck on a boat, the game just automatically drags me back to the boat, even from Lyndow.

Sorry yes, I did miss that.

For those you that find this thread in the future, I managed to get out of this same situation by making a bug report, and then after pressing submit on the report, I pressed the W button, and it let me walk out of the boat (albeit a little awkwardly) and I wiggled back into functionality.
