I need inspiration to do a painting

When I want to do a painting, it seems I have no inspiration? Does anyone know how to get inspiration?

You get inspiration by finding new places. And you shouldn't use it on painting things that you won't need in the future, it's just a waste.

You can also get inspiration by reading any books you find, as well as completing quests and adding memento photos to your collection.

There are at least two spots with potential infinite inspiration. First is the owl by the tents near the ocean where the Amulet quest is. You can listen to his song whenever you want to gain some inspiration. After you did the Amulet quest and gained access to the Roots hideout you can always drink dream-tea there and every dream will give you inspiration. So there is no need to fear. The amount you can get of everything is not finite.

That makes me feel much better, I was going to be pretty sad if I wasn't going to be able to paint much just for myself.

The hot springs give you a little inspiration. You have to walk into them, sit down, and wait a while.

How do I add Momento to my collection?

When you make a painting your mother requested, view it and notice the icons on the left. Click to assign the painting to it's icon and you have your momento.

Fair warning to anyone: Do not work in the pea gardens. Yes you get paid 10 glowstones every time you do work there, takes seconds and seems easy way to make money, BUT it eats your inspiration!!!

I found another source of inspiration: read the newspaper. There are different editions of the newspaper, depending on what has just happened in Eastshade. So you can go back to the vendor from time to time and get a new one (with or without paying for it). Reading each edition gives you a little more inspiration.

The performance in the Nava Tavern at 5PM (I think it was 5PM) is also an infinite source of inspiration I think.

I didn't know it gave inspiration. I think it's 7pm. On the middle floor of Nava Tavern (The Tarnished Teapot). If you get there after 6pm you will find a seat near the stage has been reserved for you.
