A little ranbling on what I would love to see
So, this is just a bit of rambling on what I would like to see happen in the game, if I could "wave a magic wand" or somesuch. Give it as little importance as you like. I'll sip my tea all the same. :lunar2019piginablanket:

Of course, I'd love to see a few more commissions and quests.

I would also love one or two new herbs and a few new teas with their own filter effects.

But then if I could really make changes...

Postpone the proper ending, or take a "Heart Lost in Eastshade" epilogue path. I then fix up that ramshackle hut by the Bridge to Nava, that Viktor's boyfriend seems to have once used. Or perhaps I just set up a tent and hammock. I then till a small garden, and get a few large pots. Perhaps I can even grow the fruits from the Locked Box, or the blubloomsac or red amaranth of Toma's Farm, or the False Thistle that Kai uses (or even be allowed to cultivate Black Thistle?).

Then, the purpose of this little abode... people look for you. Every few days, you get a visitor. You chat with them. You get one or two questions to find out what kind of tea they want, and then you chat over a glass of tea. They don't just say "I want Scragweed tea," they say "Oh, something sweet," or "I haven't felt surprise in a while,", and you guess. (Yes, teas get tastes and qualities. that would have to be added.) Depending on how well you guess what they want, they become more chatty. They tell a brief story, and you get three to five questions. The questions pull details out of what they want, like "the feeling of cold" or "running across sand as a child" or "the stars are so clear at night". You then have a new special commission, perhaps one that only last 5-7 days. You get paid based on how well you figured out what the person wanted.

And if I could just drink a little too much tea and really dream...

A sequel game that is a parallel game. What I think would be fascinating would be a parallel game where you are an herbalist and writer. You could be a relative of Kai come to help him rebuild his business, and see what Eastshade offers. Set the game in Eastshade. Make the format similar, but you help people with teas and remedies. You are also a writer, and by exploring gather inspiration to write books on the environment, and by helping people short books on human nature.

But the twist...

Make the two in the *same* Eastshade. Make the save game files compatible, with an import function. The games could be played in sequence, or even in parallel, with events of one affecting the other. Some events like the Bursting Bubble could even be automatically unlocked in one by being unlocked in the other. People could even have commentary on "that artist who is so talented" or "that apothecary helped me out". Or, the player could ignore the import and just play the two games stand-alone. If the player wishes, the painter or the apothecary could affect each others worlds, even though they never meet.

"The most delightful artist came by earlier. He bought you a cup of tea."

Thank you for your time. :lunar2019piginablanket:

I like your ideas! :lunar2019piginablanket: My idea for a sequel was that Kai and Kaelan might have a child who wants to become a herbalist/alchemist. To be admitted to Nava university, they have to collect a herbarium, while people bother them for tea and medicine. Once they are admitted, they learn new recipes and go on a plant excursion, maybe visiting the player character of "Eastshade".
