Losing Ground running out of ideas :(

my progress in the game is beginning to come to a halt, a lot of objectives i not making ground on, getting into The shez and roots. getting to the inn on the island, catching the fish, finding the amulet, getting across the river, finding the hot springs among others. im running out of options rapidly , am i doing something wrong :(

The game heaps up missions on you, and solves your problems when you are least expecting it. Given what you have listed, I think this one is easiest to get at:

Have you messed with the mirrors you find along a road ? You should find something near them that's relevant. Note that mirrors reflect light, and light is strong enough during only some times of day.

yeah i read the riddle and everything and after ecclipse i moved mirrors, i guess ill keep trying..thanks anyway

Pesky know more than I do about gaming but I just wanted to offer my opinion. It sounds like you're in a mess. I think you've not followed the tasks in order which would give you the tools you need. If you rearrange the process or miss a step you can halt progress. I think it would be best if you just start a new game and pay attention to where the game directs you. It would be easier than trying to correct the game or aquire something you missed. Read all the books for good info and inspiration. Good luck.

You'r first challenge is to get money to cross bridge. Next save for a coat so you can be out in the evening, earn money or use other method to get sealant for a raft which is your ticket to the Inn and the rest of the island. The rest will follow. Talk to everyone and read all books.

I doing everything right for the bait to catch the big yellow fish, they just not attracted to it, as regards the glue i have seen nowhere to buy it only get it for free from a trader if i find the password for the roots which i have made no progress whatsoever, i think getting the glue is nearly the main objective to me at this stage to make real progress

So you've go over a hundred games or so and over a dozen years with Steam and you're stuck on Eastshade. I think you're just having fun here.

I don't know where you're fishing for sandfish if you haven't got a raft yet. I don't think they bite from the Blushwood shore. I've only caught them from a reed raft in the lake or the West end of the lake where there's a dock. You can get sealant by earning money doing commissions, or buy a zip line trolley and sell weeds to the character in the treehouse. You also get paid for doing any acheivements in the area you can move in. Fynn pays for sticks etc. Sell feathers and stuff to One Glowstone Guy(who has the sealant.) Or do Pesky's challenge with the mirrors. I would strongly suggest checking out Altbert's guide on how to play the game efficiently, although it will have spoilers or course. Maybe just read up to where you're stuck. I could tell you where to fish for sandfish, but you can't get there yet. Sometimes when you start fishing, it takes a few casts for the program to catch on to the fact someone's fishing there and activate the fish so to speak so don't quite after a few casts, let it warm up. It is a game after all. Good luck.

So let me get this straight!!!!!
I break my back for one and a half hours fishing just to get enough glowstones to buy the sealant because i just cant get it the other way! ,thats all great, so i construct the raft, test it out, Fold it up. then i go to where i actually want to cross and i cant construct now because of no sealant, Are you bloody kidding me?????.im seriousily beginning to lose patience now

I really would like to help you but honestly, what you say doesn't make sense. You say you got 500 glowstones by fishing? (but not sandfish, which you can't seem to catch). Then you say you make the raft, tested it, but when you went to use it you couldn't make a raft because you didn't have sealant. OK, you have a problem. I can't help because as I said, you don't make sense. I would recommend you start over because you've really screwed up your game. Refer to Altbert's guide as he has played this game inside and out. Read it and start again. It's a simple game and straight forward. If you still can't play it, throw it out.
