Skill Tree Update - My Thoughts
Ok so, i tried out the new alpha that you can opt into through the games steam properties.

My honest thoughts? The skill tree is already pretty well balanced and paced well. This updated version is horrendous. That's the only word i can use, because the amount of painful, and pointless grinding that it requires in order to take one skill mastery from level 1 to level 2, is a nightmare. 10 frozen flames to go up one level?? That's 10 levels.

Even the other abilities and upgrades are priced too high. The original system was nicely setup. Tier one took 1 flame each. Tier 2 requires 3 flames per skill. The next tier looked unfinished, but i would assume that they would then cost 6-8 flames per skill. This works, this makes sense, the time it takes to level for these is mostly fine.

Loading into the new alpha with my current save, and seeing that i can't use my hard earned metal weapons, being on the third area, and now being forced to rely on stone weapons, or respec my character to at least get to use bone swords, was extremely demoralizing, and made me instantly swap back to the current release.

The other changes in the update make sense, and i get trying to get the balance just right, but please do not go forward with this new skill tree. The current one is vastly better, and at most may just need a few tweaks here and there.

Side note, i don't like the Stamina, Health, and Energy being things you have to dump flames into in order to increase them, as this just adds more tedious grinding. I've played 30 hours of the game to get to level 40, with all metal tools/weapons, and Mythril armor. This felt like a good pace, and I wasn't trying to rush, nor was i going super slow. It felt good, and was fun to play.

Sounds like the devs are trying to make the player spend more time in the game world abd to slow down the story completion a little bit.

I wonder if the game world was adapted to be in line with this new 'grindy' skill tree.
