It's not Armored Core but it has good mech combat and customization, unlike Left Alive.
It's also dirt cheap, has functional multiplayer and can run at unlimited framerates if you force it externally.

Own it. Trash game if you are fan of front mission games. P.S. Mechs there feel wrong. Like running in heavy armor, not in 100+ tonn mech

Front Mission Evolved was fun as hell, never managed to try the MP though since it died before I bought the game.

The Multiplayer in Front Mission Evolved was definitely the best thing about it for me. Decent mix of speedy action and having to focus enemies down. Pretty fun in general. Might have to do some matches, if others are up for it and around. The Campaign, not so much - real mixed bag there.

I mean, sure, the game definitely didn't reflect the rest of the franchise particularly well, in tone, setting, or principal characters, but the gameplay was solid enough for what it was - and plus, with a dearth of decent mecha action games (preferably with decent customization), I'll generally take what I can get.

It's a good game, I completed it once and never touched it again but it's not bad, I prefer front mission turn based tho.

E.D.F is ok, but it's not exactly a mech game, it has mechs in it though.
Still, until Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries comes out, FME would still be one of the top recent mech games on PC.

But as HappyZavulon said, it's not exactly a mech game... Just got mechs in it. But they are gorgeous !

Though really I suppose the closest thing we've got at the moment to a traditional Front Mission are probably BATTLETECH and ADEPTUS TITANICUS: DOMINUS and maybe INTO THE BREACH. Though I'd be suprised if there wasn't more out there.

Mechs in EDF are conditional and non-customizable. They are implemented in pretty much the same way they are in Left Alive.
EDF is an alright game, but it hardly counts as mech game.
