Report a translation problem
I mean, sure, the game definitely didn't reflect the rest of the franchise particularly well, in tone, setting, or principal characters, but the gameplay was solid enough for what it was - and plus, with a dearth of decent mecha action games (preferably with decent customization), I'll generally take what I can get.

Still, until Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries comes out, FME would still be one of the top recent mech games on PC.

But as HappyZavulon said, it's not exactly a mech game... Just got mechs in it. But they are gorgeous !
Though really I suppose the closest thing we've got at the moment to a traditional Front Mission are probably BATTLETECH and ADEPTUS TITANICUS: DOMINUS and maybe INTO THE BREACH. Though I'd be suprised if there wasn't more out there.
EDF is an alright game, but it hardly counts as mech game.
