Hello dianaitzelbarron,
A few gamers have suddenly experienced the inability to move Misfortune during gameplay. Unfortunately, the issue hasn't been reproducible so far. And without being able to reproduce it, a permanent fix has been elusive.
When a gamer suddenly experiences the issue as you have, these are the workarounds:
The issue that causes Misfortune to stop moving in game usually does not recur when gamers either restore a manually created save game or begin the game anew. To avoid having to replay part or all of the game, the recommended option is below:
I understand that you may not have a manually created save game file that was created before you could no longer move Misfortune, and you may not wish to replay part of the game again, or restart the game from the beginning again.
If that's the case with you, I have had some success in fixing the autosave game file so that you can again move Misfortune beginning right where the issue occurred for you. Once fixed, you should be able to resume your gameplay with no loss of progress and with only the inconvenience of first sending me your autosave game file, and then replacing that broken file with a version that I have "repaired" for you.
Will you please upload your autosave game file to a cloud service so I can fix it for you?
The autosave game file is called:
Little_Misfortune_0.save
and it is located here (on Windows computers):
c:\users\<Your Windows Login Name>\Appdata\LocalLow\Killmonday Games\Little Misfortune
(There is also a file called Little_Misfortune_0.jpg in the above folder. I do not need that file, just the Little_Misfortune_0.save file.)
Also, if you have trouble finding the "\Appdata\" folder or can't see the .jpg file extension on the Little_Misfortune_0.jpg file, you may need to follow this guidance to make that folder visible in File Explorer (it is hidden by default): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nJXT6pO6FZgtg6Lpm02coKudtwo9VdZ0/view.
Please copy the Little_Misfortune_0.save file from your computer to a cloud service and reply in this thread with the link to that uploaded file. I will take a look at the file, and fix it so that you can again move Misfortune with no loss of game progress.
I hope that you will send me your autosave game file so that I can fix it for you. Or you can use a manually created save game file that you created before you could no longer move Misfortune, or begin the game anew.
I am sorry for the inconvenience.

If you have any problems accessing the file, please let me know. Thank you very much for your help, I was very invested with the game and I don't want to start it over again nor lost my progress. Have a nice day :)
Hello again dianaitzelbarron,
Thanks for your autosave game file. I was also unable to move Misfortune after loading that file. I am sorry for the trouble you experienced.
I have now repaired that file and uploaded it to my Google Drive which you can download to resume your gameplay. The revised files are here:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1BLgG8Nnca7JqCsyWSTyfrBq24-P-4qnf?usp=sharing.
The files have been named:
Little_Misfortune_3.save
Little_Misfortune_3.jpg
and have been named like this so they become a manually created save game.
Please copy these two files at the link above to your Little Misfortune save game folder:
c:\users\<Your Windows Login Name>\Appdata\LocalLow\Killmonday Games\Little Misfortune
If you have a manual save game in Slot 3, your files will be overwritten when you copy these files to this folder, so please rename the files already there if you wish to keep them.
Once you've copied the files to your computer, please start up the Little Misfortune game, and from the game's Main menu, please select the "Load" option. and then click on the game file shown as "Load 3" in the lower right corner of the Load screen to load the repaired file you copied to your computer.
You should find Misfortune back in the custodian's storeroom where she was before. You should be able to resume your game's progress as Misfortune is now able to move throughout the room again.
If you have any questions, or if the file does not work for you as expected, please post again in this thread.
I hope this save game allows you to continue your progress in the Little Misfortune game.
Again, I am sorry for the trouble you experienced when playing the game. Thanks very much for your patience.
Hello dianaitzelbarron,
You're welcome!
I'm glad that the savegame worked for you. I hope you enjoy the rest of the Little Misfortune game. Thanks for posting again to let me know that you were able to resume your gameplay.
