I'd recommend The Whispered World. It, too, is sweet, beautiful and depressing. It is fairly difficult to complete, though, as it's a lot more oldschool than Misfortune.

Lorelai or The Cat Lady, those games are in a similar category - but more grungy on the side of Fran Bow than the light graphics of Little Misfortune.

I actually also suggest The Case of the Golden Idol. Not exactly like this game, but it has interesting, unique graphics with dark content, but manages to still maintain a somewhat mirthful vibe despite the darkness.
