I would say that game mechanics wise Little Misfortune and Fran Bow are very different. Where in Fran Bow you would have puzzles that needed to be solved in order to progress in the story, we chose a more streamlined linear way of progressing the story in Little Misfortune, with choices that affect your playthrough instantly and some varying "mini games". The focus is much on the story, characters and the mysterous world surrounding Misfortune, the little lady.
You will get the full experience of Misfortune by playing the game once, but if you want to find all those sweet details then you can play it all over again and see the different outcomes for each choice during your journey.
One other thing is that we have toned down the amount of bloody gore in Misfortune, since this was not needed to tell the story we wanted.
The story of Misfortune is still very personal and mysteriously creepycute as you would expect from us, and we hope you will have many philosophical moments with your mind and even get another level up irl :)
Let me know any more questions and we will try to answer as spoiler-free as possible!
