Hello Alasher,
I'm sorry that you feel that you cannot support a game that doesn't offer mouse support. It's not clear from your message if you expect to be able to play the game totally using a mouse only and not having to use the keyboard at all, or if you just want to use the mouse to move the characters on the screen and still use the keyboard for some interactions in the game.
There are several actions in the game that use specific keyboard keys:
Pressing "F" to spread glitter,
Pressing "E" to interact with objects Misfortune is close to on the game screen.
Pressing "ESC" to exit from the game back to the game's menus.
Gamers who use only a two button mouse, or a touchpad on a laptop may have trouble using just the mouse to operate the game without using the keyboard. You didn't say how many buttons your mouse has, but perhaps you have a mouse with three or more buttons, or you plan to use the keyboard in addition to the mouse.
As you've discovered, there is currently no mouse support present in the Little Misfortune demo. There ARE workarounds available that can overcome this limitation to allow you to use a mouse with games that offer no native mouse support. But since your dislike of games that don't natively support a mouse was stated pretty vehemently, it's unlikely that you'll be interested in using software that emulates a keyboard using a mouse, but in case you would consider this kind of workaround, here is one such software: https://www.highrez.co.uk/downloads/xmousebuttoncontrol.htm. This software can be configured to allow your mouse buttons to be mapped to the keyboard keys that the Little Misfortune game uses, and to only be active when the Little Misfortune executable (or any executable you chose) is running and to revert to a standard mouse when it is not. I tested this software with the demo and it does allow you to pretty easily move Misfortune through the game screens using the left and right mouse buttons. If your mouse has additional buttons available, those can be mapped to the keyboard keys the demo recognizes to perform the interactions the game recognizes as well.
And although you may already be aware of this, the Little Misfortune game does support many controllers, so have you considered playing that way if you don't wish to use the keyboard?
I am sorry that you may chose not to play the Little Misfortune game because of your dislike of games that do not support a mouse. In my opinion, you will be missing out on a great game because of this choice.
All of this said, Killmonday Games IS working on bringing mouse support to the full Little Misfortune game, and while I cannot currently guarantee mouse support when it is released, there is a possibility that it will be available at that time.
I hope this explanation has been helpful to you, Alasher, in determining your final choice to purchase or not purchase the Little Misfortune game upon release.
I agree 100%!
I am a one-handed gaming type of gal.
I've played many games via keyboard for many years (since DOS), just don't enjoy or like it so much any more. Especially with my laptop... ie. sitting back on the couch with my mouse and not having to lean forward on a keyboard is relaxing for my game playing hours. (my laptop is widescreen and not "lap" friendly) and my PC means leaning forward too. Anyhoo, looks like a great game and I did enjoy FRAN B, but given my druthers and no offense to the talented developers.....
I still stand with Alasher: Simpler is better and bottom line, better is w/ MOUSE :)
