Also, Fran Bow might have been set in america, though I'm not sure on that one. As people say, Little Misfortune definitely seems to take place in sweden, albeit mostly in altered/conjured form...
The hair in the screenshot is probably one of the many nods to Fran Bow, or possibly coincidence. It does resemble her style, though the color is different.
and on benjamin record in his house you can see that it was recorded on 11 november 1993
and calendar in misfortunes house says october 11
Interesting!
Attempt at a unifying theory (major spoiler warning): The first moments of the game take place on October 11, 1993 (or thereabouts, not sure if there are any clues to the year this early). From there, after Morgo takes control, he stealthily takes Misfortune into The Beyond, where the rules of our reality are more or less thrown out the window, or at least apply differently than here or in neighboring realities. It's a little unclear whether The Beyond exists as a "twisted mirror universe" to the other realities (like the vale of shadows in D&D or Stranger Things), or is a realm of pure chaos or nothingness which only assumes shapes resembling our world by the will of its inhabitants, the parasites. I would guess the former is more likely, but who can say; the place is very unlike anything familiar to us, and different rules (if any) evidently apply.
In The Beyond, things pop into or out of existence at Morgo's whim, and it could well be that time also moves (or skips) back and forth unpredictably, at different speeds/distances. Morgo by chance touched the place and time where the game began (or perhaps a few days before, as Benjamin appeared earlier, probably having been alerted to Morgo's activities) and latched onto Misfortune, but it seems likely that he also touched or touches other points in time (or becomes aware of things from other times while time flows back and forth through The Beyond), hence his knowledge of Google, more advanced computers, and the like. It's a little unclear whether he is moving time in the illusionary/reflection world back and forth based on his own knowledge, or is continuously absorbing knowledge of the moments in time that his surroundings are currently moving through.
