Go to Custom > Weapons > New Weapon > Select Weapon Model > Continue > Select Recoil
Then you can select that weapon in the tasks
You can't attach a recoil pattern to just any weapon. It has to be a weapon that you can either edit or you have to create a new weapon and attach it in the weapon attribute menus on page 2/7. Check "enable recoil", then under "recoil type" select Custom then select the recoil pattern you want from the new drop down that appearss.
I/we would prefer it better if we can just download any weapon from the workshop and edit it. Creating a weapon from scratch is counter-intuitive when things can be progressed by picking up community-made work.
For this to work we would need to build a system that allowed for creators to allow or disallow this, some people dont want something they put a ton of time into to be altered and re-uploaded as their own. Not saying its a bad idea but there isn't really a ton of demand for this functionality as setting up a weapon is fairly simple on its own and if you are trying to create a new weapon recoil pattern in most cases you will want fire rate, projectile/hi scan type and all sorts of other attributes to be created with the weapon to match the one you are trying to recreate anyway, so in most cases people want to create the weapon to match everything as close as they can.
