I was able to get this game and windows live working on windows 10 64-bit. The procedure used is below. You will need admin rights for most of this, and to acknowledge UAC:
- Install game through steam, it will install a games for windows live redistributable
- Go to add/remove programs and remove the games for windows live redistributable just installed
- Download from MS the newest games for windows live client and install. I got it from this link: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/pc/DownloadClient
- Run games for windows live marketplace (which was just installed in the above step) and log into or create a games for windows live account and profile. Set it to auto login with your password, etc.
- Close games for windows live marketplace
- Run the game, and it should open games for windows live. Log into your GFWL profile and set to auto sign in, etc.
- It will say an update is required, and to close the game. Choose to upgrade, and it will throw you back into the game menu. Exit the game and the update will apply.
- Open the game and again it will say an update is reuired, do the same thing (again)
- Open the game and choose to login to your GFWL profile, and set to auto sign-in etc. (again)
At this point, mine worked and no longer asked for updates, etc. I can now play the game, and when I open the game it connects to GFWL and to my profile and works.
To be fair, just because I got it to work doesn't mean it will work for all. I do have one PC (windows 7 64-bit) that I have not been successful getting this game to work and it seems to be GFWL issue related. I could probably work on that and get it working, but this game isn't worth that effort. As long as one device in tyhe house can play it, that is as far as I am willing to work on it.
Great help! It still works with Windows 10! :)
