Why does online option not work?

Why does online option not work? Online tab is gray and is not available and when I press Live tab, nothing happens, is this normal? Any help would be nice!

It's because you're not signed into Games for Windows Live

to play online you need an accout @ games for windows live. but i am not sure if new players can still register there.when i play the game i am "still" locked on to it automaticly but i dont find any players to play ..i assume the game is just too old ....

thanks guys, well in the past I was also automaticlly logged in windows live, but for now I cannot sign in, and the windowns live app is not working good either, do one of you maybe still have the old windows live app in downloads or know where I can get it as the new download file seems to not to work properly on my new pc ): I want to play this game online with my bro and friends once a while and with any who wants XD

Ok. Let me give u a link to the latest version of games for Windows live. Make sure u uninstall the 2 games for Windows live software from your computer before you install this new version. Here is the link

Guys i did uninstall the older version of GFWL and install the latest one but the GFWL does not pop up and when i reach the main menus of VT4 i press on first selection "live" but nothing happens/opens and offcorse online option is darken as i am not signed in.. I never managed to play VT4 on W10 , on W7 i had no any problem....

Yes Windows no longer support the Live Gaming anymore with the result that we cannot play these games anymore online, in other words never buy anything from Microsoft store + never buy a game which has a Microsoft Gaming app

Nope, I have spoken with many others and even had contact with Microsoft about it. It seems some pc's still find a way to make the online app working, but most do not. I installed all available Live Gaming apps, all gave the same error.
