Online Ranking Constatly crashing.

One of the achievements is to play all stages in "Ranking attack", but when I try load the menu to select the stage, it crashes. I try again, it crashes again, and so on and on. This is really annoying. Could anyone help me on this? Thanks in advance.

I have no idea how to fix it, but I can tell you that you're not alone.
I tried it about 8 times, then closed the game and got the achievement on a different way.

I used to have this problem all the time, then the game was patched a couple months ago and since then it doesn't crash nearly as often. I don't know how to fix it otherwise, sorry.

It's a problems with the friends list. If you have too many friends, say goodbye to online mode from Sonic Generations.

@Goldex Yes, I heard if you had 100+ friends, the game would crash non-stop, but I only have 19 friends. Before the game was patched, my ranking attack worked flawlessly, and since it was patched, it started crashing.

me i crashed like 1/2 of time after i finished a stage but my time was saved

I already got the achievement. If you get in "30 second trial" and wait ~10 secs in the stage selection menu, then go back and select ranking attack, there is a much less chance of crashing.

tried that and it doesn't work :/ pretty sad cause i was hoping to be able to get achievement, but everytime i scroll down to chemical plant zone it crashes

Mine doesnt work as well, I saw somewhere that those that have Windows 7 32x have more problems

try this and please comment if it works

Delete the local files from steam for sonic generations
then go into program files -> steam -> steamapps -> common -> delete the sonic generations folder
then reinstall the game and play and see if it lets you play online
it'll have minor crashes after a few stages but nothing serious :) i managed to get my achievement this way

Got my Achievement "Time Attacker".

For me Act 2 Seaside and Chemical plant were glitched which caused the game to force close.

Solution:
It was simple to get around it, once you are selecting from Act 1, bring yourself to an Act you'd wish to play, afterwards switch to ACT 2. This technique will allow you to avoid passing through the glitched Zones/Levels and you will be able to play the rest of the zones which will get you your achievement.

This worked for me, so it must work for you guys.

I only posted this to help other frustrated achievement hunters for this Sonic game.
