Sonic makes stupid side steps
Yeah, Modern Sonic makes sometimes side steps to the left side. Pretty stupid. I've heard this is not only my problem.
Is there a way to fix this? Its not my controller.

I'm using a 360 pad. Is there a other way to fix that?

Download x360ce. Unpack it to the sonic generations folder and Run (accept pop up windows) Setup pad and Save...This will basicly emulate your game pad as a keyboard and problems vanish!

odd; I use a usb 360 controler, and don't have this issue, are you using a wireless one?

If by 'ordinary' USB pad, you mean a DirectInput pad (like my older Logitech Dual Action), that's your problem most likely. Generations, along with a lot of other newer gams requires Xinput (which the X360 pad uses, obviously). They're *almost* compatible in a lot of cases, but games like Generations sometimes glitch when using the older protocol. The x360ce program mentioned works well (I used it to deal with similar problems in Just Cause 2), but has the problem that it needs to be installed on a game-by-game basis to work.

For a lasting solution (which unfortunately does cost money), I might recommend the Logitech F310 controller--it's almost identical to the Dual Action, but a) has the face buttons labeled and colored X360 style, rather than just numbered, and b) more importantly has a little switch on the back that lets you switch between Xinput mode and DirectInput mode, so you can use it for recent games, as well as older ones. It's not that expensive as pads go, either--$25-$30, last I checked. There's also the F510 and the F710...one's wireless, the other has rumble, I can never remember which.
