who do you belive is better,modern or classic sonic?

I know the prevailing wisdom on youtube was that the classic sonic games are better then the modern sonic games(with the exseption of all games post sonic unleashed)but I thought it might be intresting to get the steam comunites opinion on the subject

Modern Sonic is better than classic Sonic in Soing Generations, but classic Sonic games are better than 3D Sonic games.

Modern is better for the current way Sonic gameplay is going. Classic is better for 3DS in all honesty.

I'm not sure if Sonic 3 And Knuckles counts as a different game from Sonic 3 and Sonci and Knuckles.

Sonic 3 & Knuckles is technically the 'complete' version, so I don't think it's fair to include it in the same list as the games that make it up.

I like the gameplay of the classics, but at the same time, there's a certain something to the 'boost trilogy' that makes those games really enjoyable to play. I can't decide which one I like better because they give such different forms of fun. Lost World is pretty cool, too.

If we're talking about just Generations, though, then I like the Modern gameplay more.

I think sega should stop constantly trying to replicate the genesis era sonic games and instead try to come up with new and original sonic games with new and original gameplay.what made the classic games so special was the fact they were original at the time of their making.
