Why does boost feel awful in this game?
I went back with really happy memories of boosting in this game and after playing Frontiers I slam into walls and it feels like garbage. Will Sonic X Shadow Generations have a 1:1 replica of Sonic's sections or will things be rebalanced/tweaked?

I heard they added drop dash to classic at least. I really hope they tweaked physics/proportions to be like classic.

I feel like the main reason for this is because you're coming from Forces, a game that literally auto-steers for you so you're always facing forward. Generations doesn't play itself, nor does it make turns automatically for you like Forces does. The game has a drift feature which makes it easier to make tight turns while keeping your speed up; Forces removed this feature altogether mainly because it always keeps you in the direction of the main path. :vroomytaxi:

Furthermore, boosting all the time isn't always the best course of action - some sections require you to take your time and punish you for boosting at the wrong time or without proper knowledge of the level design.

Sorry, I meant Frontiers, not Forces. I was afraid I mixed that up. My favorite is Unleashed then Frontiers and I don't like Forces' boost too much.

frontiers has even worse "boosting" than generations, the boost got worse and worse with every game after unleashed. "boosting" in frontiers might as well just be jogging, the sense of speed is garbage, and cheap looking.

They at least patched in jump momentum eventually.

lmao frontiers feels like ♥♥♥♥ compared to gens, it's more of a "you've got used to it" type thing, so when you go back, it's faster, and feels worse in comparasion as frontiers is a relatively slow sonic game.

Boosting in Gens and Colours feels normal. It's literally like Unleashed.

its literally not. unleashed is the fastest and every game afterwards is NOTICEABLY watered down. unleashed had the best sense of speed and the motion blur effects were amazing.

also, shame on you for comparing a trash wii game thats a wish version of the hedgehog engine to unleashed.

"Trash Wii game"? It was praised for being a good Modern 3D Sonic game.

And don't forget that Unleashed is also 80% of night stages.

it’s only 80% night if you have the trash wii version - you refuse to accept this fact. it’s not 80% in the HD version , and the night levels are half as long.

Also colors is 80% 2.5D . it’s terrible.

The Wii Version's night levels were easier. Night levels are just repetitive brawler that has nothing to do with Sonic.

Also the RPG elements weren't needed. Same with medal collecting to advance the story.

i don’t think it’s irrational to want a 3D game to be 3D. you’re acting like that’s too much to ask for or something ; imagine wanting a 3D game to … simply be 3D. if i wanted 2D i’d play mania or something .

your complaints about unleashed are irrational. complain about werehog all you want - nobody cares about that , because The day levels are freaking amazing and are the best quality boosting and level design of any boost sonic game

sonic unleashed day levels are untouchable , so you keep attacking night levels instead 🤣😂 Unleashed still does more right then any boost game after it , that’s watered down and ruined by 2D garbage ; classic sonic is not fun to play , and colors as a whole is a very boring game

not to mention even the 3D levels in generations are plagued by 2D section spam , not as bad as colors, but it’s there
