Red Screen
Hi

I seem to be having a bit of trouble playing Sonic Generations on my PC. Whenever I start the game, I can navigate and play just fine, but everything is tinged red, sort of Virtual-boy style. Suprisingly, waterfalls and other effects are just fine.

I'm playing within Parallels 10, running a guest Windows 8. Here are my computer specs:

MacBook Pro 11,1
Intel Core i5-4288u
Intel Iris 5100
8GB of RAM

Any help would be appreciated!

Are you using mods or installed Sonic GMI?

No, I'm not using any mods or GMI. It's a default installation.

Are your video drivers up to date? This sounds like you either need newer drivers or your video chipset isn't compatible with some shader etc. the game uses. I'm betting on the former.

Yeah, I kinda figured it was the Parallels video driver. Oh, well. Thanks for your help!

My Mac actually runs the game just fine under BootCamp. How about this; you make helpful comments in the future, and I'll ignore you if you don't.

I guess your BootCamp broke the shaders of the game.
Maybe using the "Unleashed Shader" Mod with the fix could fix it.
Simply install Sonic GMI and activate the FxPipelins Shader Fix(already included) and the Unleashed Shader

When you have the Unleashed rendere/FxPipeline renderer enabled you also have to turn on the FxPipeline Shader Fix mod.

Running windows 8 is the worst thing you can do, use windows 7 instead of windows 8, windows 8 is buggy af, and trust me, 8.1 isn't that much better... Either use Windows 7(Preferably), window 10 OR windows 11...
Also, I have the exact same problem, but I have SonicGMI installed and when I start my game, it loads fine, but on the main menu, Sonic, Classic Sonic and the ring they're in are red, and when I start the game, everything is red, or a shade of red, except for the Character, and this is ONLY with Character mods btw, like Blaze and Shadow, without either of those, it's perfectly normal

Win7 isn't officially supported anymore so it is not advised to use it (even though it is/was a great OS).

The red tint appears when you have the Unleashed Shader enabled without the FxPipeline Fix Mod which should come with the mod loader.
Enable either both or none to fix the issue.
