Trying 3d with two monitors: game runs on wrong monitor

I have two monitors. One I play games in 3d on, the other I cannot. I usually have both on when I play a game. I decided to try Sonic Generations in 3d, and when I launched it, it came up on the wrong monitor. I then turned that one off so that the game was forced to play on the correct monitor, but when I did, I got a dialogue box that told me to that the configuration wasn't correct and to rerun the configuration tool. Anyone know what's going on here? The incorrect monitor is slightly bigger, but should display the same resolution

EDIT: I figured this out years ago, but people were sending helpful replies and asking the question. In the configuration section, you'll have multiple versions of your Graphics Card. Each version is a different monitor.

Sounds lke you just need to re-run the configuration tool after switching the monitor. It's normal.
But if you've already tried that, I have no idea.
