In one episode, Tails wrote a letter to her during their adventure through the snow to find a new power source for the village.
(Tails: "Dear Zooey, Day 3: "The cold is unbearable. For the first time in my life, I actually considered wearing pants. Desperate times, indeed.")
As for Sonic and Amy, the show has all but come out and said that they are in a relationship. In one episode, they had Sonic and Amy enjoying a picnic by themselves.
Of course, they both still deny it... unconvincingly.
In a recent episode, to distract Eggman, Amy and Sticks hung up a homemade life-sized ragdoll of Sonic that Amy just happens to own.
(Amy: "Lucky for us, I just happen to own this homemade Sonic doll. ...Which I keep around for legitimate, definitely non-creepy reasons. *nervous laugh*")
So Fune, what are your thoughts with the IDW publisher change to the comics? And is there any crossovers you'd think would be fun to have once it moves?
I actually didn't know about that until you mentioned it, which prompted me to look it up.
So, Sega finally has cut their ties to Archie?
I'm not surprised, given how much trouble Ken Penders put Sega through, and continues to do so.
(Now I wonder if Capcom will do the same regarding the Archie Mega Man comic. A shame, as that'd mean some of the robots, like Quake Woman, would disappear. But they'll do whatever they need to)
I enjoyed the Archie Sonic comic, and still own a ton of the comics (including the Knuckles comics), but I can understand Sega's reasons for ending it.
I'm actually kinda glad that Sega is right away hiring a new company to make Sonic comics, and I look forward to seeing what they can do.
As for crossovers, right now, they'd need to focus on getting the comic started. Once they're established, then they can start thinking of crossovers.
I figure Sega would have them use some of Sega's other franchises. Maybe Skies of Arcadia or Alex Kidd or such.
Like I said in my edit, right now, they need to get off the ground with it first.
Once the comic is established, then they'll be ready for crossovers.
I'd imagine Sega would have them stick to Sega-owned franchises. Perhaps Skies of Arcadia, or Alex Kidd, etc.
Or maybe one of the tons of franchises Sega owns, now that they own Atlus.
I'll be honest, I understood very little of that.
Come to think of it, has the Sonic Boom TV show even aired in Japan yet? I'm curious to see how it would do, especially season 2.
There's no offense towards Cosmo, as this Tails is in an alternate universe.
Further, the producers stated Sega doesn't allow them to use characters from any Sonic series (unless they were in the Sonic Boom games). That includes Cosmo.
Zoey is actually a pretty nice girl (the fact that she's voiced by the same actress as Tails helps).
And as of season 2, her and Tails are still in a relationship, she's still good, and she's still alive.
Considering Tails's usual luck with women, it's his best streak yet.
Ah, I actually just checked.
The TV show is now available in Japan through Netflix, as of July 1, 2017.
So Japan only just started getting the TV series this month.
I don't know if they have the whole thing, or just Season 1, though.
In all seriousness, it just something new. If they had kept renewing it year after years, the series would grow stale. Something new once in a while is good, y'know.
For some reason, reading Wizard's comments, I'm starting to remember the Cosmo and Cream fans, and their bitter hatred of each other. Both girls' fans would slander and hate the other girl, and preach endlessly about why Tails should be with their girl of choice.
(Ditto with Amy fans vs. Sally fans regarding Sonic)
Rather irritating to deal with (especially when you're one of the few that likes both), especially when no pairing is truly canon. But, what can you do?
In fact, amusingly, Dr. Eggman is the only one who will have a confirmed relationship, as he canonically has a great-grandson in the future (Eggman Nega).
(Might explain why Eggman's bio lists him as being "a romantic". Considering how he looks, he'd need to be charismatic and romantic to get a girlfriend.)
...Come to think of it, no wonder Eggman was able to give Tails sensible advice on getting a girlfriend in the episode "Tails' Crush".
-------
But in any case, Sonic Boom (TV Show) is now out in Japan (Netflix airs the show with a Japanese dub), and time will tell how the rest of Japan feels about it.
I'm curious how they'd handle the jokes, as comedy doesn't easily translate into other languages.
Such as the joke in "Give Bees A Chance" where Sonic falls:
Sonic: "Coming in for a rough landing Tails, you ready?"
Tails: "Roger!"
Knuckles: "Who's Roger?"
Sonic: "He's talking to me."
(referring to Sonic's voice actor, Roger Craig Smith)
Or if the 4th-wall-breaking jokes would go over well there. (Then again, Sonic X used those jokes in Japan, so it might work here)
Knuckles: Dare ga rōgāda?
Sonic: Kare wa watashi ni hanashite iru.
I can't speak Japanese, to be honest.
(And a lot of the online translators don't seem to be able to read romanized Japanese words, for some reason)
But I know that unless the Japanese voice actor is also named "Roger", or in some way has a name that can also be used to mean "yes" or "understood"... the joke kinda falls flat.
