I hear rumors that a yellow-furred fox girl in a red dress will be part of the episode (she actually debuted in the previous episode "Battle of the Boy Bands" (if you get a chance, watch it. It was hilarious, especially if you hate Justin Beiber or boy bands in general))
Of course, even now they joke that Tails's true affections are for his plane (I think they even showed him kissing his plane goodnight), and all his tools (when they were stolen once, he called them "My babies!").
That was also outright adorable, especially Tails trying to get advice on how to talk to girls...and Team Sonic give worthless advice.
Sonic suggests acting like you're not interested (with a witty one-liner ready);
Knuckles suggests pumping iron and carpentry (which did strangely get Knuckles a few giggles from the walrus and goat lady watching him work out)
Amy suggests acting like people in a soap opera, or even a regular opera (which led to Tails dressing up as the Phantom of the Opera (half-mask and all) and reciting bad poetry to Zooey. He still looked adorable though)
Eggman actually had finally had enough of "watching this train wreck", and tells Tails to just be himself...before then launching an attack on the village. Which led to his robot grabbing Zooey, which prompted Tails to get in his plane and come to her rescue.
He ended up singlehandedly saving her, and appearently she's rather taken with him, too.
So, in addition to Cream, Cosmo, Auto-Fiona, Fiona, and possibly Classic Amy, we now have Zooey.
EDIT: I forgot about Mina Mongoose and Barby Koala (Pity that they're both gone for good. Thanks for nothing, Ken Penders).

But to answer your question: Zooey was nice to Tails throughout the episode. She is apparently a very sweet girl (but still within reason). She politely greets Tails in her first appearance, and is polite and patient with him throughout the episode...even when he's acting really weird.
After trying Amy's idea (which had him dressed up like the Phantom of the Opera, reciting poetry to Zooey...and fumbling his lines horribly, causing her to quietly close her windows), he even tried Sticks idea, which was to be like the birds and show his plumage (to attract females and assert dominance over the males).
Cut to Tails holding two large feather fans, dancing, and doing bird calls right in the middle of the town square. Despite how ridiculous he looked, Zooey walked up and politely asked Tails if he was... okay. When he said yes, she excused herself and walked away.
That's when Eggman couldn't stand to watch Tails make a fool of himself anymore, and offered the sensible advice.
After Tails later saved Zooey from Eggman's robot, she was definitely smitten with Tails (and even gave him a kiss on the cheek).
The episode ends with them holding hands and looking into each other's eyes (with an adorable heart-shaped iris-out, compliments of Eggman)
I suspect she probably always had a small crush on Tails, but they never mentioned it. But she did know him fairly well (enough to casually greet him...which would've worked fine, if Tails wasn't so nervous about talking to a girl he likes).
But by the end, her feelings had definitely grown.
Chances are, she'll appear again.
In fact, I can almost guarantee it. New character models are expensive. The show can't afford to waste a character model.
That's why they recycled Soar the Eagle into a news reporter.
That's also why in the Boy Band episode, Justin Beaver's manager was based on the same model as the Photographer's assistant from "Fortress of Squalitude" (he's effectively a re-color of the assistant).
In the boy band episode, look at the women in the crowd. Most were based on 4 character models. A couple were re-colors of Zooey, 5 of them were based on Lady Walrus, about 7 of them were re-colors of Perci, and about 12 or more were based on Lady Goat.
They couldn't afford to create character models for a bunch of extras; so they took those 4 women and created re-colored clones of them, to create a crowd of extras.

Zooey and Tails's relationship will likely not be mentioned, except in passing (Such as maybe if they, for example, find a jewel, Tails might make a off-hand remark that Zooey might like it).
Tails will be seen living by himself.
In short, I think it'll be done with the audience assuming they're dating behind the scenes, when we aren't watching.
Maybe an Eggman attack will interrupt a date between them, forcing Tails to have to "go to work". Likely, Zooey will understand each time.
Problem is, Archie is cancelling their Sonic Boom comic after the next issue (#11). That said, they have promised that they will continue the Sonic Boom story, but now in the main series of the comics.
(i.e. Sonic Boom won't have it's own spin-off comic any longer, but will now be seen in the main series)
I don't mind answering, although I don't know as much as others.
I haven't heard of any Modern Sonic game. There was a rumor of a "Sonic Mach 2" being made, but that rumor was proved false.
So far, the only new games known about are: Sonic Runners (mobile devices); Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice (3DS); and Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympics (Wii U and I think 3DS).
Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice does seem to be shaping up nicely. Sega and Sanzaru confirmed that they've been listening to the complaints from the last game, and are working to fix those problems in the new game.
In particular, the biggest complaints they heard was the glitches from Rise of Lyric (which was fixed by simply not using Big Red Button (who made RoL) to develop games), and the level exploration.
To fix the level exploring issues, Sanzaru are shortening the levels, but also are adding a path through the middle of each stage, allowing the high-speed running and action we've come to expect from Sonic. But the tops and bottoms of the stage will still retain the exploring elements.
So, if you want to blast through a stage, you can. And if you want to explore and find hidden objects to get 100% completion, you can.

Sega has been making Sonic games like there's no tomorrow.
Lost World came out in 2013; Sonic Boom (both Rise of Lyric and Shattered Crystal) came out in 2014; and now Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice is coming out in 2015.
So Sega has been insanely busy.
To put it in perspective: Nintendo's best seller is Legend of Zelda. LoZ's main console games fly off the shelves every time. But even then, it takes around 5 years to develop each one. (Look how long it's been between Skyward Sword and the upcoming Zelda game)
In the meantime, another studio makes the handheld games, which Nintendo releases during the 5-year wait (usually, 2 years after the console game comes out).
At times, Nintendo has even outsourced Zelda to other companies to develop for. The Zelda Oracle games were made by Capcom, and the Hyrule Warriors game was made by Team Ninja.
Those too, help with the 5-year waits.
So if anything, Sonic games are actually being developed a lot faster than normal for a series.
From what I've heard, the episode will be called "Bro Down Showdown", and will involve Sonic & Knuckles entering a "best friend game show" to win a new couch for Amy. I won't give away anything else, but it sounds like hilarity will easily ensue (especially when Dr. Eggman gets involved).

Unfortunately, Mina Mongoose is gone, along with any character that doesn't come from the games or TV shows, or that was made by anyone except Ian Flynn (his contract with Sega likely states that what he makes becomes their property).
I again say: Thanks for nothing, former Archie editor Ken Penders. Thanks to his insatiable greed, we all now have to suffer for it.
