No idea how i fixed it the first 2 times, maybe try to verify the game cashe? Or delete some stuff in the files and then verify the files? Normal mods should not be the cause of this problem.
Copy the following block of text, paste it into a blank text file. Then rename the text file to sonic.reg and double click. When prompted, choose yes to merge the registry change.
Explaination for non-computer savvy people: This is a script that will change the registry key for Sonic Generation's save game location. In some instances, the installer fails to generate this key. When this key is missing, the game will fail to launch.
If you have a previously saved game, you will have to move it to the 'Saved Games' folder in your profile
You are the man!!!! Thanks!!!! had to fix it for my nephew!
idk why this happen plzzzzzz help
Right-click the game in the steam library, go to Properties (at the bottom), go to Local Files and click on "Verify Integrity of Games Files...".
This checks if there are any missing files to download.
2 years later, this fix still works like a charm. Thanks so much.
