Really unfair this games getting a remaster
sonic team is extremely lazy and just keeps going for the low hanging fruit; they keep ignoring unleashed - the most graphically and technically demanding sonic game for garbage like colors - a crap wii game & remastering an already remastered game on steam . generations doesn’t need a remaster , this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Wishful thinking....... it's such an easy money win and yet they still didn't do it.
You can still buy it on Xbox its got support for Series X by default. Game is not great honestly. It shows its age hard. Its got pretty poor level design and challenges that are just there for gimmicks to pad run time. Every Sonic game since that one has had that problem where they just add sawdust to pad out the game because they made Sonic too fast.

"Unleashed has poor level design"

lmao, theres deadass not a single copycat boost game that matches the quality of this level singlehandedly. this is peak boost design. everything was made perfectly - the length, the variety, the music, sense of speed, atmosphere and level design, the 2D was done right and doesn't feel like a forced pitstop or take up half the level or more.

you gotta be one ungrateful hater that ironically likes to settle for less if you call this "poor level design" . im curious how long it even took the devs to craft something so perfect like this. had to take months

I played unleashed on an emulator (and constantly crashed) but man, i love it more than generations. It just had enough of 3d for it not to feel like "ok run some and have fun playing a genesis game". The only part i didn't like was the medals because i like to just run through levels and not look into every nook and cranny, but some guides helped me in that part. I maxed out speed as the first thing and man, it is so fun to just fly through the level like a damn bullet

Nobody has an Xbox or wants one, & playing it on console isn't the same as PC. Backwards compatibility isn't a remaster either. You know this is a cheap excuse and isnt the same as what generations is getting but you still suggested it anyway.

honestly your opinion isnt great and most likely 100% biased, due to you probably not being good at the game & crying at eggmanland.

yet its still the best looking sonic game to date. generations is a direct downgrade in graphics, colors by default is a 6th gen wii game, forces is blatantly low budget while frontiers is blatantly an unfinished college game design project with no artstyle and looks nothing like a sonic game. Unleashed still has the fastest boost of any of its watered down counterparts and actual drifting and momentum in its gameplay. sonic feels like a car in unleashed while in other games he feels glued to the ground and running through mud.

this is absolutely a lie, the level design is entirely intuitive to the boost gameplay with little to no shoe-horned in 2D garbage on a 3D plane, that breaks the pace of the level. any 2D segments in unleashed is short and sweet and blends into the level without being annoying pit-stops just for the sake of padding and laziness because it takes more skill and imagination to design a full 3D level - something the later games severly lack which is why generations is 100% rehashed and copied levels from other games with awful forced 2D garbage every 5 seconds, forces is a hallway simulator, and frontiers is just..idk what tf it even is - sonic in space jumping from platforms? can i even boost??

and there it is. "i died too many times because the games too hard for me, so i think its bad instead of me"

sonics clearly not for you. going by your username and pfp, are you just a fan because of a fetish? if thats the case, then your critiques should be taken with a jug of salt.
I have an Xbox and greatly appreciate it for what it does but emulators do exist if you want it on PC. The level design has genuine problems where it doesn't flow and its clear the team wasn't aware of what they wanted. And what I meant by its age is in fact its gameplay not graphics. You can be the prettiest game to exist and still age like milk. Also Unleashed is also a Hallway simulator. A lot of going down straight narrow hallways with sidestepping as the main choice. As for the speed its more of a talk about balance of speed and control. If you make a character super fast at all times you lose control that is what happened during the boost era. I am not even that massive of a Sonic fan. I just like some of the games and the characters.

ITS NOT THE SAME . This game (generations) is about to get a SECOND remaster after already being remastered for PC once. Nobody wants to go through the trouble to bootleg a damn game just to pretend like its actually a genuine upgrade/remaster.

Then so does every other boost game. 2D sonic on genesis had "gENuInE pRoBlEms" but no one seemed to complain then or much now, because thats just sonic for you - a franchise i don't think you like much. Plenty of platformers out there for you to play instead.

"where it doesnt flow" - this is a poor take that sounds like you're just repeating what i said because you actually dont have a rebuttal. The team was actually very aware of what they wanted - they wanted a boost game that allowed sonic to run at high speeds, and designed the levels as such. again, its not for everyone, just say the game isnt your cup of team and move on. i dont get people like you that always need to blame something else instead of yourself, its not the games fault that it isnt your type of game. what unleashed does, it does perfectly, which is to be a boosting game, not a sonic adventure platformer or a 2D side scrolling genesis game.

ironic considering its the best feeling boost game to date and every preceeding game feels like a downgrade that stripped things away to make the game easier and slower.

never ever heard anyone say this about a mario game, but for some reason its always ok to do with sonic. Another moot point. nothings "aged like milk" about the game, that in itself is an exaggeration - do you know what "aged like milk" means? try playing the original resident evil 4 on gamecube, if you can even make it to the village before tapping out on how bad it plays or the original tomb raider game with its tank controls in the remaster.

so are you just trolling at this point

eggmanland is not a hallway simulator
rooftop run is not a halway simulator
dragon road is not a hallway simulator
jungle joyride isnt a hallway simulator
skyscraper skamper isnt a hallway simulator

virtually all the daytime levels besides apotos isnt a hallway simulator; the whole "boost to win" crap meme didn't start until colors and generations came out. funny how a game thats supposedly a hallway simulator is the most challenging boost game to date, how can that be if its just running down a hallway?

you played forces and frontiers. congrats i guess?

the boost games arent for you, and i dont think sonic is either. you dont like "gotta go fast" . theres other games that you can go to instead of lying about games you dont like
It did not get remastered on PC it got a port to PC. Also Rooftop Run is a hallway simulator it just uses camera angles to hide it. And there is a massive difference between going fast and going TOO fast. Sonic games have found that balance before and since the boost games. Rollin Rascal a fan game has the perfect amount of going fast but not too fast. and yeah I did play frontiers I loved frontiers because it was an open world adventure with some action stages like SA1 was. And a lot of those stages were also reused from past Boost formula games so good job on roasting your own favorites. Truly nobody hates Sonic like Sonic fans.

Maybe not everybody wants a remaster of Unleashed, just a way to play it on modern systems since they already bought the game which is the whole purpose of backwards compatibility. Has been since the PS2 era. :SonicManiaItemBox:

That said, the lack of a native PC port for Unleashed is definitely a huge missed opportunity.

i prefer a port over a remaster, i think you took my comment out of context. a remaster would just change the game

Honestly, the only thing on SEGA's mind is the money.
Every single time they want more money, they start feening, and unfortunately the Sonic team's rushed to make the game by the end of the deadline. This time it's not really any different, except that they are once again going to make a terrible attempt at remastering a game that's good all on its own. I don't care if we lose years of modding, unless if they're really the brutes we think they are and permanately delete generations instead of forcing a simple delistment.
Thing of it this way:
Sega wants money. They don't have the time or energy.
They look to the past and see a miracle of God that they created.
It doesn't have any new modern console or Pc ports, so they once again begin the process of showing that fans are idiots, appreciating something they made only for marketing purposes. Honestly, if Mario wasn't a thing, Sonic wouldn't be on either. Then there'd only be Pokemon, which is fine by me, given the circumstances.
They begin to dwindle down all our hopes, and in an instant they're "Cooking up" quite a suprise.
They plan on remarketing a game, and it turns out as bad as Colors Ultimate and Origins.
I have no problem with Colors Ultimate, it runs excellently on the switch. I don't own Origins, so trust me to keep my mouth shut about that.
Anyways, what I'm trying to say is that Sega's built up of pompous fools and arrogant tryhards that excel in marketing by selling their products to children, and so they use endearing characters they know we love, but put up a bill, accept tax's, and offer it for a price that it shouldn't really be.
They're being unreasonably stupid, but I love Sonic. Let's hope they learn their lessons. But knowing them, and their rivals like Nintendo and Atari, they'll do anything, even risk bankruptcy just to get cash in their hands.
Rest in peace Sonic. World-wide global warming is the least of their concerns, so while we suffocate in pollution they'll breath trees.

Coming back to this and i still think that unleashed deserves a remaster more, or at least a PC port, it's such a great game

rather a port than a remaster , they’re just gonna downgrade it and make bad changes to it. it’s basically gonna be like that generations mod .

Wasn't Unleashed hated on for a while? It really only started getting praise in the last 5 years.
