Red Star Ring glitch?

Replayed Chemical Plant Act 1 (Classic) for Red Star Rings, and something... Weird has happened. The game is saying I'm missing the last one in the level - but I've searched both paths, and can't find it. Amy's saying to "jump to an upper path from the twisty tube", whatever that means, but I've looked it up, and if it's the one I think it is, I JUST GOT IT A FEW MINUTES AGO - and it hasn't registered. And worse, it hasn't respawned either.

I've checked the other locations in the level just in case, and it's not any of them. So that begs the question... What in the universe is going on?

after a checkpoint next to a waterslide jump on right time, when you near to twisty tube i recommend to use spin dash before so you will go trough on max speed avoiding to fall on pink water the red ring will be on top platforms from that way

Because the issue is, I GOT SAID RED STAR RING. It didn't register in the overworld, and it isn't respawning when I re-enter the level. Like I said: The thing has glitched on me.

Edit: Found the one it was telling me I didn't have - another one that I know I got on the same run as the aforementioned Red Star Ring, and that wasn't respawning (I checked there *MULTIPLE* times!), but apparently now it's there? Still weird, but at least I'm not going to have to restart the entire game. Wonder if restarting my computer had anything to do with it... Doubt it though.

Got exactly the same issue with the 4th red ring of Seaside Hill. Got the ring, didn't count, now it doesn't spawn anymore. I tried restart & reinstall, doesn't help. I guess there's a glitch with the save file...
