Mod recommendations?

Nothing that changes the playable character or adds a new map(s) tho
Maybe also performance mods too (I already have the Direct3D 9 EX Improved Renderer)
Also I do have the Hedge Mod Manager + The Community Codes are downloaded

3D 9 EX
Better FX Pipeline
Tails' Dash Rings in Stages (changes red rings to the mechanical rings)
Restore Silver Boss Pinch Music
Soft Shadows
Score Generations

I installed the Better FX Pipeline, the Tails' Dash Rings, and the Soft Shadows but none of them seem to work? Am I supposed to line up the mods in a specific order in the Hedge Mod Manager or something

I have them listed exactly like that, with the "Load from top to bottom" option and they work for me. Mod order definitely matters, which can be a little annoying sometimes

when i rearrange the mods to be how you do, and i enable "load mods from top to bottom" and press save, it auto arranges to the following:
Better FX Pipeline
Direct3D 9 EX
Soft Shadows
Tails' Dash Rings
edit: never mind i just realized that it works with the check boxes next to the mods

dude all the sudden when i try to launch it it says the following:
"The detected configuration tool does not match with your current hardware. Please re-run the configuration tool."
does this have to do with the mods or is it just a normal problem that this game has

The configuration tool for this game is god awful. If you changed anything about your specs (changed monitors, for example), you have to do the whole thing over again. Go to your game's folder and delete all the .config files, then re-run the configuration tool, and set every thing up again.

While the mods should not have done it, maybe running the Direct 3D 9 EX or Better FX Pipeline for the first time effected something. It shouldn't do this going forward, unless you do something like change your monitor, etc.

aight so ive done that, so tommorow im gonna test it out because for some reason as of right now i dont really feel in the mood for it. ill update you tommorow tho, but sorry if i was to be a bother, its either im just being too cautious about stuff or the modding and the generations config is just weird as hell

so i figured out whats wrong: It'll let me play at 59hz but not 60hz and for some reason it won't let me play at 60hz. ill try some things to see if i can make it work

edit: so the info that i found: It will only let me play on 1920x1080 59hz. when i do 1920x1080 60hz it gives me the config problem. and when i am able to play on the 59hz, the better fx pipeline + soft shadows makes it lag alot, so I can't use those sadly, but idk how to make it so i can play on 60hz

I don't know what you have, but if you have a Windows 10 laptop (this should all be pretty similar if it's some other version of Windows), right click on Desktop, press Display Settings, scroll down and click Advanced Display Settings, click Display adapter properties for display 1, click Monitor, and see if you can change the refresh rate to 60.

However, I'm not sure why the game wouldn't launch for you at 59hz? I play on my TV which is capped at 59hz and it works. Unless you are some superhuman, you shouldn't notice the 1hz difference : P

i guess i don't notice the difference but idk it just bothers me that its one frame lower than what i like to play it on
