0xc000007b error solution

Hi. If you already tried out all of the solutions posted here and none of them worked, then try this out.

1. Go to https://github.com/PTKickass/BetterGenerationsConfigTool and download the project.
2. In the project there is a folder called binaries and inside it there is a config toll and a xinputhandler.dll. Copy them.
3. Paste the to the game's folder.
4. Enjoy the game!

If you have other problems I might be able to help you.

i followed the directions you put and it didn't work at first. It was very finicky and took mutiple attempts to work. When it finally worked the button inputs were scrambled and I was not able to edit them. I restarted the game after it was working to try and change the button inputs and it now no longer works.

I don't know what made it work for me exactly, so I tell you what else I did.

1. I downloaded the 32 bit version of msvcp100.dll, msvcr100.dll and xinput1_3.dll and put them to disk/windows/sysWOW64 (or to system 32 if you have a 32 bit PC) I also downloaded the 64 versions to make sure and I put them to system32 (don't do it with a 32 bit pc)
2. I suggest you to delete the .cfg files in your game's folder before you run the config tool.
3. Also check out other threads and try the solution in them.
4. After I did these, I mindlessly kept checking the game integrity on Steam. First there was 5 faulty files the it went down to 1. After that I downloaded the github project.

This worked for me, after configuration the app was not launching but it launched from big picture mode

This resolved the problem for me.

OH. MY. GOSH.

I was about to throw in the towel on this completely and request a refund because it seemed like no matter what I did, I would always get one error message after another. But finally, finally, FINALLY, several tutorial articles and videos later, THIS WORKED. Or at least got me SOMEWHERE.

Doing exactly what you did, it still wouldn't run the configuration tool, but at least it stopped giving me error messages. I would just click on it and nothing would happen. So out of desperation what I did was copy all the contents of the "ConfigurationTool" folder in the project you said to download and paste it into the Sonic Generations folder. And FINALLY--not only did the config tool load, but the game itself loaded and runs BEAUTIFULLY on my PC (which I was starting to think just wasn't compatible with it).
