What's the difference between HedgeModManager and SonicGMI?
Saw both of these while I was looking up mods for both Generations and Forces, and I'm quite curious what sets these two apart. Is one better than the other, or is there really no difference between them?

SonicGMI was the first mod while HedgeModManager is still pretty new and made to work with Generations, Lost World and especially Forces.

HedgeModManager has more features and is a bit easier to use but both work fine.

GMI works with existing Generations mods (which were made with GMI in mind) while HMM can get a bit fickle on what it actually wants to run (especially older ones made with GMI in mind). I've had a good experience with it in Forces (HMM being the only mod manager and thus the one people build for), but with Generations GMI just worked more consistently.

If you can get the mods you want working in HMM, it certainly has more features (like "cheat codes" allowing you to do useful things like have infinite lives, in case you're into speedrunning or just think lives systems are dumb like me)

Yeah...

Also, HMM is required for several new mods now.

I've got a lot of mods, but the majority of them make my game crash either almost immediately or shortly after entering a stage. Is it because I have an RTX GPU or what?

Most (all?) mods that have a custom hubworld crash on RTX cards. You can delete a file as a workaround (maybe google that, I dont know which one).

Some crash by doing things in-game like boosting at "innappropriate" times, and other things like that. I've only got HUD and model/graphics mods installed, so I don't know why those still pose issues.
Crap so would gmi not work with sonic forces specifically one from the 7 seas ☠️ bc hedgemod absolutely refuses to let me mod it 😭
