Trying to solve Gateway31's mystery
So I downloaded the game on my phone and after finishing it, I have been digging deep into the Gateway31 mystery.

The morse code says "A windy convergence. A polar, feathered bear waddles above the hammer".
And when you answer that, it says "Find Milton Keynes on a midsummer morning".
"Milton Keynes" is a town in the UK, so this is the first piece of the puzzle.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milton_Keynes
"A midsummer morning" may refer to Midsummer Blvd, a big artery in Milton Keynes, or to the fact that the Google Maps for MK was in part taken in June 2015. Also, the city centre apparently frames the sun on midsummer's day, according to some architecture articles.
https://www.theguardian.com/cities/2016/may/03/struggle-for-the-soul-of-milton-keynes
There is a Convergence College for mental health in MK too. So that may relate to the "Windy convergence" part. Have still to guess if "Windy" comes from wind or from winding (as in winding road).
http://www.convergencecollege.org/
The crazy thing is there IS a white feathered bear in MK. It is "Pucky the Polar Bear" and is the mascot for the local ice hockey team, MK Lightining. The costume makes it look as it was made of feathers.
http://mk-lightning.co.uk/can-pucky-take-the-2014-mascot-olympic-champion-title/

I am stumped about "the hammer" part. Gateway31 asks you to be in Milton Keynes on midsummer to look around, asking you what do you see. I have travelled the town on Google Maps up and down, looking if Pucky the bear appears dancing somewhere, but to no avail.

But I feel I am onto something here.
Any ideas?

So, I searched for Midsummer Day on google. Apparently, it's a day between June 19 and June 25, and it's also called St. John's Day. It's a big celebration, based on the summer solstice. This year's Midsummer Day is June 24, so maybe, just maybe, we should look for Milton Keynes by that date?:lilimok:

That's interesting, if you haven't already, if you take a look at the latest update, you'll see it has a big emphasis on June 24th, maybe something's going to happen on June 24th? Maybe an update that adds some stuff for this Gateway31 mystery? We'll just have to wait and find out.

My game just updated.... No news though
The morse code at the bottom of the Iris corp page has changed. I haven't managed to translate it, though. Putting in the "A polar, feathered bear waddles under a hammer" gives something about entropy, but no chance for a response, while putting in random text does nothing but close the gateway
This is the morse as I've copied it, someone may want to check, and it's not spaced so I can't just run it through a translator

Not a master at morse code or anything, but I feel like the first word could be Anna, but that's just a guess on my part.

Last line, with some characters missing, seems to point to the number 6539 and ANNA, but we can't know for sure until we confirm that this was correctly copied.
Translating morse without spaces is just a guessing game.

What I have so far (I'll edit this as I work stuff out/guess stuff that happens to fit and seems to make sense):

Interesting catch! I translated a lot of it under the assumption that it would contain words from the first morse code message. I got the following:

.--/../-./-../-.--
w/ i /n / d / y
-.-./---/-./...-/./.-./--././-./-.-././.-/.-./-
c /o /n/ v /e/ r/ g /e / n/ c/ e/ a/ r /t
.-/ /.--./---/.-../.-/.-./--/./.-/-/..-././.-/-/...././.-././-..
a / /p / o / l /a / r/ m/e/ a/t/ f /e/a/t/ h /e/ r /e/d
/-..././.-/.-./ /.--/.-/-../-../.-.././.../.-/-.../---/...-/./
/b /e/ a/r / /w /a / d /d / l /e/ s /a / b/ o/ v /e/
-/...././ /..../.-/--/--/./.-./.-/.-./-
t/ h /e/ / h / a/m /m /e/ r/ a / r /t

Formatted a bit sloppily, I admit. I used slashes to separate the letters out and left the original spacing. It says:

windy
convergenceart
a polarmeatfeathered
bear waddlesabove
the hammer

It is uncanny that many of the words are used again, it seems beyond coincidence. I'm guessing this is intentional. However, the new words are only "art" and "meat" which doesn't add much to the meaning. Either I got them wrong, which is totally possible, or there is something to it.

I'm still working on it. I think it's definitely possible that they chose a message that can break down into smaller words that have a completely different meaning. I'm going to try and come up with an original message. So far the first line gave me "ate a raw" (O_O).

Do you guys think this could be a reference to the hockey teams in MK? Perhaps the game makers are fans. A windy convergence could possibly refer to a match between the lightning and thunder, which has a logo of lightning and a hammer respectively. The mascot of the lightning is Pucky the bear, a feathered polar bear. He could just be bear waddling above the logo on the ice. Maybe?

EDIT: Just saw another post that has a link to the next game from the studio. As per the official game page, it releases Midsummer Day.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/878320/SIMULACRA_Pipe_Dreams/

I think the easter egg was just a teaser... fell a bit cheated now since I was really hoping it was something deeper.

The exact new text when you respond to gateway 31 with the old translation:
Providence has spoken
Entropy has taken form once more
Complete your task
You have much to witness
And then a keypad prompt

By old translation do you mean "A polar, feathered bear waddles under a hammer"?

This is all covered in the walkthrough at: https://www.appunwrapper.com/2017/10/26/simulacra-walkthrough-guide/

Part 8:

“Curious. A windy convergence. What do you see? tell me.” That’s from the Morse code.

So enter: A POLAR, FEATHERED BEAR WADDLES ABOVE THE HAMMER

But there’s more! He answers: “Providence has spoken. Entropy has taken form once more. Complete your task. You have much to see.”

Apparently you have to enter the next answer near the end of the game, which sucks because I don’t want to replay it. But the answer is “Iris.

The Gateway will reply with:
“Don’t worry. Its existance is ony revealed to its chosen. Find milton keynes on a midsummer morning. Find the truth”

On another note... the release date for Simlacra: Pipe Dreams now says Halloween instead of Midsummer Day. Creeepy!

I can confirm this works, I just got the achievement that way.

On a kinda unrelated note the symbol for the achievement is a Chaos Cross[en.wikipedia.org], which is usually taken as a symbol for opposition to order (either social or universal). Since it seems likely that the Iris OS got taken over by the Simulacra (according to the creepy boot sequence we get mid-game) this whole thing might hint towards a group that's aware of the Simulacra's plans for a "perfect world" and has very different plans, although we obviously don't know the reach of either.

EDIT: Solved my own problem - after the gateway says you have much to witness, play til the very end of the game. Before speaking to Anna you have the opportunity to speak to The Gateway again. Send them anything - then The Gateway will send the question about what you doubt!

How did you manage to get the achievement? I've tried entering Iris just before I make the new Spark profile but it doesn't work, and I've played through to the end waiting for the second question to pop up (the one where it asks what you doubt etc) during the conversation with Simulcra/Anna. Maybe it only works if you don't play the last conversation with Ashley's profile?

Soooo I'm not sure if anyone ever solved this or found anything more about the Hammer, but I just found out about this mystery, and wanted to share something. While working in Milton Keynes about 7 years ago now, I took several pictures of the various street art / sculptures / statues / etc that were scattered throughout the city. I had to go back to my old phone's backup of the store pictures, but I DID find one from Midsummer Blvd... I don't remember exactly where it was (pretty sure this was near the MK Centres, their bigass shopping mall essentially, nor do I have a picture of what the little plaque said unfortunately....
