Crazy Taxi 2 was lame, 3 probably as well, Crazy Jump was dumb
The series was ruined with the Crazy Jump in CT2. Why would you give the player the ability to jump at will over obstacles in a driving game? That's insane in its stupidity. I can only explain it by Sega observing that players crashed into everything. Which is still no excuse. I also don't care for how the cars jiggle up and down because of those hydraulics.

I was also shocked to learn that they used the same songs in all three console games. They had decades of more punk rock to license.

No wonder we did not get more games. We should have had ten of them by now!

I dunno how to tell you this but the whole thing is dumb. That's why it's fun.

It's dumb as a design decision. Driving games are fun because of how you navigate traffic and obstacles. The jump cheats us of that. That's what ramps and other inclines are for.

I'm so glad someone agrees with me. I definitely feel like crazy jump both overcomplicates a wonderfully simple game, while also stripping out part of the challenge that makes learning that simple control scheme so satisfying.

on top of everything else that worries me about the new CT game, I am afraid of them including the jump.

My condolences to everyone else in this thread for having to live with the life long struggle of brain damage severe enough to make one enjoy the crazy jump.

I just went throught the whole serie and I also would love to have a whole separate mode in 3, which is the ultimate Crazy Taxi, but with the jump disabled.
Having to drive through the traffic is what makes it fun, but with the jump you end up just jumping over it so it ruins that.
As much as I loved 2, once I came back to the first one, I never played 2 again.
