Yeah see that's what I do but it's still very inconsistent. I'm lead to believe it's a problem with this version of the game.
As Scout said, I also believe that the problem is exclusive to this version of the game, and that's something not hard to believe, considering that the other "Dreamcast Collection" games are also broken, like Space Channel 5 fox example.
It's a shame that nowadays Sega ask for fans support on their current projects, but they don't give a damn about all the existing problems on all their Steam catalog. The funny thing is that they make money everyday selling broken games to us... the users.
Shame on you Sega, and also shame on me for keep supporting you...
EDIT: interesting, I tried it some more and I just had to re-learn the timing on the keyboard. On the controller, however, it seems to work only if your acceleration and drive buttons are bound to buttons (I have LB and RB for D/S and A/B for Accelerate/Brake), otherwise the axis is too "slow" on the release. To be honest, I like my D/S bound to LB/RB and A/B for accelerate/brake anyway because I can perform Crazy Drift by just slamming on the bumpers.
That works, I'm sure of it. I performed it billions of times.
