Zero loyalty bug
Hi guys, im having an issue, playing on legendary mode, i noticed all my new govenors and generals are being spawned with zero loyalty, and when i click the add loyalty button, and it says it will increase loyalty by 2, nothing happens, they stay at zero, then cause a rebellion next turn. Is the loyalty thingy bugged? Do all governors on legendary mode spawn at zero or am i just having a bad luck streak? I mean i like to make the game more challenging but starting with no loyalty seems super unrealistic to me, seems like its just trolling me, rather than increasing the challenge.

Also, in a side note, im having issues with the tech tree, my seige tech will say 12/5 but yet the tree stays locked, then randomly on some turns it unlocks, then locks again, sometimes when im halfway through the research, im finding the same thing happening to the veterans tech tree, where the counter is tracking armies defeated, im way over the requirement but it keeps locking it again.

Any help appreciated.

On VH / Legendary, they spawn with a -1 Loyalty penalty compared to other game difficulties.

If they are spawning with zero loyalty that suggests you have other factors at play (I faced similar in a recent game when I had rebellions going on and my daimyo's influence was in the crapper, so the new guys were spawning with zero loyalty; it was gg AI for that campaign as I couldn't counter it).

Open up a character window and move cursor over his loyalty value. It will give you all the factors that are affecting his loyalty.

Check back here with the information and I'm sure someone will tell you the problem.

[I'm assuming you are not running with any mods].
I do know that when you take over like 80% of the map (maybe a bit more) all your nobles get hit with a loyalty penalty called "estates low" and you have to constantly hand out estates to them to get their loyalty back up. Doesn't sound like this is what is happening to you though.
The thing with the tech tree makes me think the whole campaign is bugging out. Maybe restart without any mods you are using, and think about reinstalling if it happens in a new campaign.

Could be right. Curiously, I didn't even notice that paragraph in the OP.
Must be these bloody varifocals I have to wear.
