Thrones of Britannia and Troy
If you have to choose one of these 2 games, which one would you pick? Thrones of Britannia or Troy? I value historical accuracy, naval engagements, units uniforms, content.

My take is historical mode in Troy isn't effective in making it historical in the same way it failed with 3K, both games felt to me like they were designed for the arcade mode borrowing all the magic BS from Warhammer.

So if the choice is only between Troy and ToB the latter wins in the historical department by default because it was not designed with modes.

If you value historical accuracy then ToB is more likely to be your game - Troy takes on a more mythological note from the Iliad epic

Troy is not historical, ToB is

I don't even consider Troy a TW game.

I haven't really considered any of the total wars to be such since DEI:cybereye:

To be honest, ToB is really bad the last time I played - all that happened was when fighting enemies, AI would spring up 1 unit armies and mass cap your cities and I never cared for the mythos / historical mix but I did play Troy day 1 on EGS and it did not captivate me - although now I hear they have a historical mode now and it's actually on sale for once which is a rarity through a bundle.

But in all honesty, just for me both time periods interest me but at the time I played both games, they did not stand out at all. They were probably just rushed to try to keep the historical TW fans happy as they kept pumping out Warhammer since it's more popular than the historical aspect of the series, sadly.

Thrones is far better. Troy's pretty unimpressive, actually, the only thing worth mentioning about it is the presentation of the campaign map is nice. The battles are really not good enough for a Total War game (although some of the battle maps look nice).
BRITTANIA IS BETTER CHOICE. TROY IS BROKEN AS ♥♥♥

Killing animations alone make this game the game I would prefer. Troy is fun too of course.

Both are good. Troy has mods for realistic combat and a historical mode if you want OG TW feel. You want bronze age or Viking invasions of Europe?

Thank you for the feedback. I finally decided to go with Thrones of Britannia, I don´t feel troy is as interesting historically as previous Total War games, I see too much fantasy content in that game. I have some interest in bronze age but still I find difficult to feel the period setting because of the map and all those mythological characters.
