Danelaw just appeared, can I become England/IrelandWales too?
Playing as Gwined, my neighbor Northumbria got so big it became Danelaw and is chomping on Wessex now. I haven't completely conquered the original welsh lands yet but I'm wondering if I can become wales (or something similar?) just like Northumbria becoming danelaw. Or is Danelaw the exception? I thought it was pretty cool they changed faction name and sigil mid game, that's exactly what was going through my mind while I was playing ... "I wonder wouldn't it be cool to become King of X or something once I get big enough?'' and Danelaw did it sort of.

Just curious is there is more out there ... *stares in the distance* like king of wales?

Though I really don't want to change my awesome faction banner, dragon <3 I love that little red twerp.

Yeh, I just had danelaw appear against me. Didn't know Wales had multiple steps, looking forward to my Wales campaign now (doing the obligatory West Seaxe first, playing as Alfred the Great was too tempting to pass up).

I think all factions have 2 steps, I know Mide and Wessex both have. Seems Gwyned as well.

Strat Clut changed into something called Yr Hen Ogledd, AKA Hen Eggs

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hen_Ogledd

They are the Welsh kingdom in the north. They haven't shown any evidence of hostility to me, I border them and the unified Anglo Saxon kingdom. I'm hoping due to cultural similarities they back me when fighting breaks out with the Anglo Saxons. I got a feeling if I try to ally with them it will break the strategic balance magic and instead of everyone on the map attacking Ireland, we will turn on each other, leaving Ireland to invade my lands. Cause that's where they like to land.

To become Wales you will have to either subdue and conquer them or vassalize them, same as with the welsh vassals of Wessex.
