Best Total War game to play Vikings?
Hey Gamers,

In your opinions what is the best Total War game to play Vikings? I know Attila has a Viking Ages mod (which I have), and I hope to get Thrones of Brittania sometime when I see a good sale. But I'd like to hear from more experienced players and see what they think.

I really love how there has been a lot more Viking and Dark Ages stuff in Popular Culture these days. The Medieval period has been a bit overdone, in my humble opinion, so it's refreshing to see this focus and not just another King Arthur re-vamp (who I know was actually a Dark Ages warrior but they get a lot of his myth from the Medieval period, notwithstanding that "Excalibur" was a great movie and I know not meant as a History).

Thanks in Advance! :steamhappy:

I haven't played the mod for Attila, so I can't really contribute, but I agree with the vikings in pop culture point. The Last Kingdom is a great show to watch before getting Thrones Of Brittania, really puts you in the mood.

The Viking factions in Attila are a little weak so i'd say Thrones is the best if you wanna do Viking stuff.

Thrones are definitely the best to play the Vikings - but be modes in the difficulty you choose. I've heard a few guys here who would start at hard/very hard and complain about civil wars.
The Attila mod for Vikings is not so well adopted for the maritime character of the warfare, and The Last Kingdom mod for the Medieval 2 is the worst as the AI is unable to make seaborn invations. You may also check Wrath of the Norsemen mod for the Med2, starting deep in Scandinavia.
