You can use the Workshop to install the mods. These will also appear in the pre-games options window under 'MOD MANAGER' which can help you manage the mods you have installed.

There are constant micro-freezes, and sometimes even macro-freezes. Oddly enough, that happens only on the stragetic layer - battles play seamlessly.
