This Worked!!! Thank you so so so much!
This allowed me to get into the launcher but there is no entry for Thrones of Britannia.
Oddly this was also happening to Rome II right after I downloaded the Sparta add on a few months back. Theres somthing wrong somewhere, I just can't trace it.
Saw others having the same problem so waited for a fix... Now a couple of months on Attila launcher isn't working, neither is Britannia; I can launch the Rome II launcher, however Attila just causes the launcher to CTD, and Britannia isn't even listed there...
Sad really...
Edit:
For kicks, does anyone else get this in eventvwr (Windows logs > Setup)?
and
Only just started searching, so not honed in on a potential fix; just asking out of curiosity.
I'd probably try running Command Prompt as admin:
Type/copy/paste (without quotes): "SFC /scannow"
Press: enter/return
wait for it to finish doing its thing
Type (without quotes): "exit"
Press: enter/return
If that fails, then go to Microsoft and download the Visual C++ Redistributables from them if the ones in the Steam/game folder don't seem to work.
Follow these steps;
Open steam
Right click thrones of britannia
Go into properties
Local Files
Browse Local Files
Launch
then download these two files
https://www.dllme.com/dll/files/msvcr120_dll.html
https://www.dllme.com/dll/files/msvcp120_dll.html
put them in the launcher files
then launch the game. I had tried everything, this was my only solution.
That didn't work for me. It's probably hit or miss whether it actually works.
Hmm, I'm not sure then. If that didn't work and replacing the launcher files didn't work, I'm not really sure what other options there are.,, I don't imagine contacting CA will help you,, hopefully someone else here has a better workaround for you. :/
