Suggestion to the developers - Priest follower affecting the King
Their feels to give no incentive to give Priest Follower to the King, since loyalty is not an issue.
This then breaks the realism of say playing with Alfred. And we should not attempt to break this realism of role play at all.
It should be, that if only you are a King, example Alfred or anyone else, you get another bonus aside from loyalty, since that loyalty bonus is not applied to you at all, Otherwise why would you add the priest follower for your King? (since the negative for enemies is trivial by itself)

Assuming I have understood how the Priest trait works, it simply gives loyalty to the general (directly), and affect negative loyalty to any enemies. (in province)

You can then see, how this seems "out of place" with Alfred, who would have Priest followers, yet as the mechanics of the game, you have cancel out half the positive of this trait.

So Assuming I understand how this trait works, and are correct, I am surprised at this design overlook, where the king receives little benefit for this. If as I am assuming, the loyalty plus trait only affects your general's own loyalty to the kingdom, as the description seems to suggest.

There are other situations where I believe you have overlooked what should be a more double sided, and complete view of traits. Scribe for example. Granted it should assist in governance, but there is no great help there for a general, and so when you want to role play alfred, but use him as a general, why give him scribe? So again, we are losing this intent to play realistically, based on not a through game mechanic. In this instance, scribe should also offer an advantage to the general also. Yes, it should help governors more, that is fine, but not simple a bonus in revenues, but perhaps something else.

These things in my eye, are design short sightedness. Where you are eagered to play Alfred as a general, it is not easy to switch a man from general to governor, general to governor, in a total war game, so your trait systems seem to be at odds here with the role play of such a character, if you were to use him as a general as you have fitted him out from the beginning campaign.

The player should have ease to play Alfred as a general, or as he sees fit, and role play his historical character, so that would be with scribes and priest followers. Yet mechanically, there are no great bonuses to play him this way, and you have not really allowed A total war game to be easily hyrbid, to sit a king in a throne room ruling, or also running about warring, it seems you are more forced to choose the one or the other.

So, I am not just talking about Alfred, but as prime example, that the Priest trait for any King as it is apparent of its avantages only to loyalty, that in this game, the king is of used as a general, this trait is not well designed, to accord with that.
