I've tried everything. Deleted all old drivers, installed new. Running an emulator. Nothing. Really hard to enjoy this game playing with a keyboard. Frustrating when all my other games use the controller without issues.
Please remember to make a backup of your original files just incase before you replace them.
First File Location:
...\Steam\SteamApps\common\MXGP3 - The Official Motocross Videogame\Engine\Config
Corrected: ..Steam\steamapps\common\Monster Energy Supercross - The Official Videogame\Engine\Config
Controller.vdf file Download: https://www.dropbox.com/s/28teiktydsesdsz/controller.vdf?dl=0
Second Location:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\supercross\Saved\Config
Zip with ini files: https://www.dropbox.com/s/yuzydcdbs6sw4kp/SupercrossConfig.zip?dl=0
Thje Appdata folder is hidden by defualt to unhide:
View -> Options -> Change Folder and Search Options -> View -> (Tick) Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives

No idea if any of this will help, my controller worked right away, but hope you get it working

More help than Milestone offered. Tried both your files, still nothing. I unistalled the game and all files associated with it. Installing again to see if that fixes it. Can't believe how broken this game has been. It's too late to get a refund so hopefully they fix it.
If you want a challenge play with the keyboard haha.
By chance if you open the controller.vdf file for your game what do you get? I had code for each button but it wasn't assigned to anything just empty "" behind every button.
Wondering if my game just didn't initalize the code or if it's suppose to look like that?
also, my vdf file has "" as yours does.
Interestingly, Photolight says...
"First File Location:
...\Steam\SteamApps\common\MXGP3 - The Official Motocross Videogame\Engine\Config
Controller.vdf"
but my folder name is different its "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Monster Energy Supercross - The Official Videogame\Engine\Config"
surely we shouldnt have different foldernames. doesnt seem right to me.
I noticed that file path too. Mine is the same as yours
Nothing about MXGP3.
Ah good catch. Mine is the same I have both games MXGP3 and this one, I must have went into the wrong one by mistake while coping the address bar. That file is the same in both games though when opened and yes it's the same blank "".
Operation-Controller Button-What the Keyboard Menu says it is.
Gas - "A"- Enter
Fr Brake/Rev - "X" -Page up
Steer Left-"Left Analog Right" - The game flips this why idk
Steer Right - "Left Analog Left" - Again in game it's flipped? So left is right, right is left.
Rear Brake - "B" - Space Bar
Weight Forward - "Left Analog Forward"
Weight Backward - "Left Analog Down"
Weight Left-"Left Shoulder"-Left Control
Weight Right-"Right Shoulder"- Left Alt
View Behind-"Y"-Page Down
So I'm now using my controller, while the game thinks I'm using the keyboard. It treats the right analog stick as the mouse so I can't use it.
While testing I had it glitch out with the "A" button no longer responding but I can actually play for now.
Have no idea what any of this means or why it works.
