I too prefer the tracks of mxgp3 but the handling being much better really adds a lot to the game imho it makes up or the fact its supercross, plus you get a track editor which is quite fun
I appreciate both feedbacks immensely but now I'm more confused lol which one has the actual better physics?
Also a huge deal for me is online multiplayer so which one has the most active online community rn? I don't want to get MXGP3 and have no one to play with.
No one is playing mxgp3 online on PC, maybe 2 ppl if you are lucky. I played mxgp3 a lot, and I've played this game a lot so far. They are basically the same, because both games runs on Unreal Engine 4. Monster Energy Supercross is basically mxgp4, in terms of some updated graphics, animations and some other technical things. If you want to play online on PC you should buy this game, because this is the active game now, however, mxgp3 is like the same game but with outdoor tracks, but no one is playing online. Buy the latest, that's what Im saying.
Check this website Vitalmx.com out and click on the moto related section and you will find a thread about this game. These are guys who race dirt bikes and guys who are just weekend warriors. There must be at least 100 pages with actual users of this game giving their feedback. For me the gaming experience with MXGP3 is head and shoulders above this new game.
Thank you, I really think I'm gonna buy this one, seems that most of the bugs and online problems people report will get patched up. Hopefully they won't abandon this game when they release MXGP4.
My real last doubt between the games is the fact that the tracks on MXGP3 are open world, and watching some gameplay videos, all tracks on MES look the same (probably because of the arena feature in Supercross) which really takes away part of the "dirt bike" experience for me.
Overall, is MES REALLY better than MXGP3? Customisation and sponsoring looked sick on MXGP3 and it seems relatively limited on this one.
PS: I've read several complaints on the internet about the game feeling "too empty, bland" and people saying it feels like an unfinished game. Anyone can confirm or give their thoughts on this?
MXGP3: deep ruts, wet muddy tracks, wider turns, hills
MESX: Rythm, tighter turns, more jumps
(yes mesx has rain/wet tracks but it's not the same and they both have variations in turns and both require rythm of sorts but just speaking in general)
Really it just depends what style tracks you want to play.
Personally I am having more fun with MESX than I had with MXGP3, but I do miss some of the tracks like Maggiora which had some nice elevation changes.
As far as the visuals go, there is no denying the beauty of national tracks but once you are in the midst of a race you won't be thinking about the outside scenery. There is actually more variety in the looks of the arenas then I thought there would be though.
As far as bike customization for looks.. I don't really care about that but I think it was better in mxgp3.
MXvsATV Alive: Looks good, not sure about the front flips being able to be pulled mid air though. Seems a bit too arcade in that aspect.
Thank you, I'm almost buying MESX but I do want open-world tracks. For me the selling points of MXGP3 are the customisation, sponsorships and open-world tracks. The selling points of MESX are basically "it's fresh so i think there will be an active, fun online community". Am I right to assume that? (Saw a lot of people complaining about the online mode as well).
Since you played both games, what would you recommend? Since I want a more genuine "dirt bike off-road" feeling, I really like MXGP3 more on that aspect, but since they're both from Milestone and I wanna have fun playing online, I'm afraid not only the multiplayer from MXGP3 will be desert while MESX is active (not sure on that), but also that Milestone will slowly abandon patches and updates on MXGP3 to work on their most recent game.
Not a ton of people like other games but generally can always find people racing in MESX.
I have never played MXGP3 online so I can't comment on that, can only see it doesn't have them at the time I took these.
Top: MESX
Bottom: MXGP3

Thank you, this really helped me make my decision. As much as I'm craving for a "classic open-world tracks dirt bike experience" like MXGP3 seems to offer, I want to take up on the online hype of this one.
Last couple questions, 1. Do you guys think they'll be updating and patching the game to improve it (and hopefully don't bombard it with DLCs but put just enough so the game doesn't get repetitive... I mean, they just released it and the first DLC they put out is "Extra Butt Patches"? Like really?
And 2. Since it looks like MX vs. ATV All Out is gonna be a while to come out, do you guys have any games you recommend (preferably cheaper ones) to get that good old nostalgia from games like Trials or MX vs. ATV Reflex?
Thank you all once again.
As far as DLC's go. Those 2 dlc were there day 1 and to me seems to pricey for what it is but value is different for different people and luckily I don;t care about buttpatches lol. MXGP3 Had a couple DLC tracks but not much and again overpriced IMO for what they gave us. Hopefully they will do better on DLC in the future.
I loved reflex but not really sure what to reccomend for other games right now but
MXvsATV All out is out in 21 days that's not really that long :P
btw you can pick this game up for $30usd on cdkeys for steam but you won't be able to refund it if you go that route. (in the event you really don't like it, or doesn't work right for you)
BTW try the Gravel Demo.. yeah it's not dirtbiking but still something to do :P
