Stuck at repeating arena battle.

I'm in the game at the point of the mission where I need to be champion of the arena to get recruited. I saved, had the cutscene for the poisoned blades, lost, had to reload.
Now I've beating it twice but they're still the same next fight.
The first time it went into the loading screen then back to talk to the manager, then loading screen, presentation of figfht, cutscene (which should happen right after the first loading screen), fight presentation again, I won and saved.
Second I won again, but no cutscene.
Is there any known solution to that?

I havent encountered that particular bug, but I had some similar thing with a flight mission, which is a known bug, and there were no workarounds that people had found other than starting an earlier save. Do you have same earlier autosave or something?

Yes, I think I keep some prior saves, I will report back with the result.

Loaded a save before killing Lucky Cho, still get sent back to the same fight, which takes me ages to clear.

Actually, that's the one I'm playing but I don't have forums there XD and either I mistyped or there was no proper forum for it other than here. So perhaps it's buying Steam's.
Well, I moved on to the other way into the Lotus Assassins, but I think now I'm stuck with one of the three ways to do it so I'll have to try another. Well, I'll first look a walkthrough for the one I'm trying now then go with the others until I either get into the Lotus Assassins somehow or get Steam's version.

P.S. - I misstyped in the search, it figures after finally posting here I'd find the GOG forums for Jade Empire, duh.

Well, since I got no answers in a problem I had several months ago, I'm going to use this.
I've seen in the JadeEmpire.ini there is a section that reads:
[Cutscene]
Count=39
Cutscene1=BLACK
...
Cutscene39=Cutscene39=J04_BW_STOMP

Maybe the issue is in there?
I'm going to check deleting the last one...

It didn't work.
