Help - Darksiders Genesis can't read my save files(Epic Games)
I recently purchased Darksiders Genesis from Epic. The game works fine but I started to notice that it "disappears with my save file". I went to the local folder where the files are stored and it is there, it is just not read by the game. Would anyone know how to resolve this issue?

I'm posting here since I don't know another forum for the game

I have been noticed this problem too, playing on Epic. Tested on Windows and Ubuntu, game is launching but no saves from previous session visible. It's something new because i played about month ago and everthing was fine. I have no clue what happend, also looking for resoluton ;/
I have never used epic games launcher outside of playing Unreal Tournament Alpha back in like 2017 or 18.
I presume theres a possibility to have your files saved on system and not on cloud? Or is it even an option to opt out of cloud saves in Epic games launcher?

I found that this game have no support for cloud support for Epic (https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Darksiders_Genesis). Actually game saved progress in files that can be found in default location but game isn't loading them, always lauch like new one.

Exactly what happens. A very strange thing. The lack of a cloud server shouldn't affect :/

How very odd. Save games should be stored in the following folder:
C:\Users\[PC user name]\AppData\Local\THQ Nordic\Darksiders Genesis\Saved\SaveGames\[user ID]

That said, I have seen other games on Epic establish separate folders for their saves, which then leads to the game being unable to "find" the save file, because it's not looking in the right place. Check two or three folders back (so in C:\Users\[PC user name]\AppData\Local\THQ Nordic\Darksiders Genesis\Saved or C:\Users\[PC user name]\AppData\Local\THQ Nordic\Darksiders Genesis\) to see if there is another folder that has "EGS" in the name. If so, copy your file from the folder without "EGS" into the folder with "EGS" and it should work again.

Hi, Lanani

I don't have a folder with "EGS" or something that looks like it. My saves were on this " C:\Users\[PC user name]\AppData\Local\THQ Nordic\Darksiders Genesis\Saved\SaveGames". Inside Darksiders Genesis paste, there's only Saved Paste. Inside Saved Paste, there are "Config", "Logs" and "SaveGames". Maybe you are right in what I have to do but don't know how it should work

It seems my Darksiders Genesis is generating a new id every time i start the game. I passed my old save files to the new paste that was created and it worked. I would like to stop this new ID thing :/

Question: do any of you have a savegame from before this started happening that we could forward to QA? If so, please upload it (e.g. to easyupload.io) and then link it here. Thanks.

Hello
We are investigating this issue,
Can you give me folder name (in Saved) where your old saves are stored?

With the game open, i transfered my saves from the earlier paste to the new one. With this, i could maintain my progress. It's kinda nuisance but you can continue your journey
