no, it will not ruin your experience. Genesis is placed some hundreds years before Darksiders 1 and is not strictly connected with other game in series. it sets the overall tone, lore and mythos on which the further games are based upon and structure them. and on opposite playing that game the last will not hinder the experience too
I would say for Darksiders franchise it is not necessary to play the games in certain order or switch between them. some players go overboard and recommend, for example play in the following order:
1) first chapter of Darksiders 1
2) Darksiders 3
3) Darksiders 2
4) the rest of Darksiders 1
- but it is too complicated. players will not lose anything and will fully understand the story if they just will go Darksiders 1 -> Darksiders 2 -> Darksiders 3. it isn't a math science
