Thanks for this solution! We’re sorry you’ve decided to refund the game, but we understand; if THQ decides a Linux version is in high enough demand, they’ll push to release one, so make sure to let anyone else know who wants the game released on Linux native to email/tweet THQ letting them know you want it.
On Battle Chasers, we made the promise during Kickstarter to support Linux on release, and THQ Nordic agreed to this on partnering with us. With Darksiders Genesis, the decision of which platforms to support has been up to THQ.
As for why to use video cutscenes, our level design is set up for our isometric camera and would be restrictive to anyone trying to make an in game cutscene. We also aren't big enough to have a cinematics department! We need to work with partners we trust to make something high quality.
Plus, we love Ludolullabi's work! :)

Thanks for that heads up; we did program the game to continue even if cutscenes don't play for exactly this reason, but it seems like maybe this fix isn't currently all encompassing. We'll look into it ASAP!
Andres
It is extremely easy and it takes no more than 10 seconds...
Thanks a lot for your feedback and patience. We won't be able to get videos working on Linux next patch, but you'll be able to continue past this.
Andres
Wow. Thanks :)
I appreciate that and I'm sure other Linux users would be happy about that.
Hi Andres and thanks for sharing this info with us.
Honestly I can't imagine how would THQ suddenly start asking to add Linux support. Usually think flow of the publisher is solely based on the business profit. And it is extremely hard to calculate benefits of adding some platform, especially if you are not targeting it in first place.
For instance, I purchased the Battle Chasers only because it has Linux support. Still playing it on Windows because of other reasons, but otherwise I would simply buy and play something else. And if you would release Darksiders for Linux I would definitely consider purchase some merch from you or find other ways to support your work.
I think that such initiative to add Linux platform should begin not from the top (publisher with business purposes), but from the bottom (you, developers), motivated by personal will and respect to the community.
We love penguin and we believe in you (-:
Good point.
Andres, have you tried asking THQ about releasing a Linux version for Darksiders Genesis?
I would happily re-buy Darksiders Genesis then gift it to my fellow Linux gamers if you will release a Linux version.
And when we have the patch? I can stop playing while waiting.
