Splitscreen coop ??? WTF ???
THQ

how do you get to make a local couch mode with split screen ????

2 players on one screen is what we need when we play with a friend at home, not a split screen mode ...

Who had this stupid idea ???

please change this ♥♥♥♥

Split screen used to be the industry standard for couch co-op. In certain genres it still is. In this case, it's due to the isometric viewpoint which does generally not allow for zooming out if the two characters get too far apart. Hence, split screen.
oh boy...we have 2020 not 1990 lol :steamfacepalm::steamfacepalm::steamfacepalm:

Hey, Korn,

Consider that players can explore to the opposite sides of the map from each other, or during jumping puzzles they can wind up moving much faster or slower than each other. Due to the design of the game and the verticality of some of our levels, having both characters on the screen would have been a bad design call. Trust us, we tried it, and really wanted it to work, but it did not fit our level design.

When making a game you have to make some compromises, and sometimes they kind of suck. But it’ll be better for the game in the end.

Gauntlet Legends Slayer edition ??? Helldiver ??? Magicka ??? Trine ???

then why does it work in these games ???

I'm sorry but it doesn't sound plausible to me. I could name so many other titles where it works great. you should really think again about the possibility to give the player ...

Or do all gamers who want to enjoy the oversized monitors have to buy ???
Can't really be the plan ... Please keep working on it you can do it, I'm sure ...

The game is really great ... my wife and I love it.

with best regards IIIKORNIII

Different viewpoint. Different style. Find me an isometric top-down multiplayer game which uses the zoomout method. Then come back. The closest you've got there is Helldivers and that is very limited in what it shows to the players.

Helldivers got it worse tbh. All 4 players must be on one screen at all time, even if played online.
So yeah, Genesis actually done camera right

Agree.
Being locked into the same place when you play with other people is just stupid.
The camera Dark Siders has is just good as it is. It would suck if players couldn't take separated ways.

This only could be better with a dynamic camera (Divinity 2 / Renegades).
The game would be definitely worse without split screen.

Divinity does it right. After playing divinity local coop with the ability to split screen when separate and then seamlessly transition to one screen when together this feels really archaic. I will probably end up getting a refund because playing for less than an hour with a friend made me nauseous.
